Happccidental stumblings - stumbling upon something accidentally that makes you immensely happy.
I had one such happy accident recently when I saw and decided to enter This Pizza Project Place and I talked to Wendy(ying) who owns this cute hot little spot off corydon by Bernsteins. She is a patient, soft spoken and hardworking woman who runs the place with love and pride in what she is trying to serve the community. She explained where she gets her ingredients from and trying to get a good thing going, hence the prices, and they are worth the value.
It has amazing flavoured pizza like the korean inspired hot kmichi chicken, or vietnamese inspired spicy chicken with hoisin, spicy peanut sauce and honey garlic aioli, other flavours include popcorn chicken, Char Siu pizza, and an amazing looking chinese sausage pizza.Other than that they have regular peperoni, cheese, canadian, hawaiian(with a twist), veggie and the likes that you can try.
Their crust was nice and fermented well, it had a great flavour and a good combination of chewy and crispy that a lot of people I know like. The rectangle size was really good for two people, as they have advertised. Will have to try the round sometime soon.
All in all they are worth a try and worth to go back...
Read moreI called without realizing the restaurant was about to close in a few minutes, and was about to hang up without placing an order. (I have worked in restaurants before, and always hated staying open late!) The owner was so kind, and offered to stay open 5 minutes past closing to make my pizza. I would not have asked her to do that (I thought they were open for another hour—my bad), but it was so nice of her to offer. This place makes great pizza! Somehow fresh, high quality (excellent dough, sauce and toppings) and ready in ten minutes every time. The Little Cups and Kimchi Chicken Bacon are so good… I want to try the Char Siu next time. Thank you for the kindness, great food, and awesome customer service :-) Highly recommend. I can tell the owners work hard, please give this place a try if you...
Read moreAfter reading about CrusTop on Tourism Winnipeg's blog, we tried it out while running errands and were not disappointed. A wide variety of choices, including some unique options not available elsewhere. On our first visit, we had the "Char Siu" and "Feels Like Summer" rectangular pizzas -- soft, tasty dough made a great base for a creative mix of sauce, protein, and vegetable toppings. The flavours were delicately balanced and the portions are just right. Hoping this restaurant gets the traffic it deserves--it is obvious that a lot of thought and effort goes into the food here. Will without a doubt become a staple of our regular trips to Winnipeg. Looking forward to taking a sip from the flavour chalice on our next visit!...
