Ordered take-out last week (restaurant was full and friend lived 2 minutes away) and we were left very disappointed with our $75 order.
person taking orders over the phone was rude from the get-go and acting very impatient with the concept of taking a phone order. Also verified the order at the end with her yet our order was wrong in several ways.
order taker really confused us by saying that our "double orders" would be charged as two "single orders" even though the double orders were the same flavour/options - what's the point of even having a double order then?
some of our boneless wings (which cost extra) had a mix of bone-in and boneless, additionally some of the boneless wings were extremely small throwaway parts but counted toward total number of wings
one of our party had ordered Gluten-free wings due to a legitimate gluten allergy; upon opening the bags we found that the staff hadn't bothered to label the pile of boxes with flavours but more importantly a "GF" or "gluten free" on the GF orders. Common practice at every restaurant I've ordered from in the past five plus years. Our GF friend had to guess as to which order was theirs because we'd gotten similar options so it wasn't readily apparent. Luckily they guessed right, but it could have been a real problem.
one "double order" which was supposed to be a BBQ sauce variety was delivered totally devoid of any sauce, just a big box of plain wings. If I wanted to pay $20 for a box of plain wings I'd just pack up my stamp collection, move to retirement community in Arizona, walk around wearing beige pants while licking my fingers to turn the pages at Denny's for the early bird special, and order plain chicken wings.
wings were at totally different temperatures upon opening the boxes; some were obviously put in the box just before we took them, some 20 minutes before.
no receipt was given in the two bags of takeout so we couldn't even verify if our order was taken correctly.
On the plus side what we did eat was very good: the chicken for the boneless wings was very high quality, the southern style breading was very nicely done, the Electric Honey wings were by far the best I've ever had - without question - and even the plain wings tasted pretty good even though that's not what I wanted at all.
That's why LBW gets 2 stars instead of 1 for the abysmal service and execution of our order. Maybe service is better when you're in the actual restaurant, but I don't think I've ever had a takeout order messed up that badly in my life, especially not at that price point and when we'd confirmed everything with the person taking the order...
Read moreEdit: I was informed by the owners that Little Bones Wings serves the business located upstairs in the same building as well. This would most likely explain the long wait for our food. I still would not change anything about the initial review. It is in the restaurant's best interest to find a solution to the long wait problem. (More cooking stations? More staff? Less sauces to streamline the preparation? I'm not sure.)
TL;DR, Long wait, regular bone-in breaded wings have no flavor of their own and rely entirely on the sauce, but have a good crunch. Cannot say anything about the other menu items since we did not try them.
Our party of 2 arrived at the restaurant at 7:00 and was seated right away. It took us about 10-15 minutes to browse the sauces before placing our order. We had one order of bone in and one order of cauliflower wings.
Our food did not come out until about 45 minutes later, at around 8:00. There was another party of 5 that had been sitting down since we arrived that received their order barely a few minutes before ours, so who knows how long they were waiting too. It did not seem like they had a lot of take out orders at the time, since I did not see many people coming and going. Not sure what caused such a large wait time for things you just throw in a deep fryer and then dump sauce on.
The wings were piping hot when they came out, so that is good. The breading has a good crunch and the sauces we tried had nice flavor but the wings themselves were pretty flavorless. Will have to try the Cajun breaded wings next time to see if that helps with the blandness of the wings.
Overall I'm willing to give them another shot, since there aren't many decent deep fried, breaded chicken wing...
Read moreWe have been loyal customers from 1.5 years. My wife even gave 5 stars to the team. But the last 2 experiences were totally aweful at every step. Starting from ordering to actual food. At the order point, the lady was not welcoming, kind of rude (very unlikely of little bones team). Next when we reached to pick up, though the order was ready but the cashier was busy in a personal chat with a customer and sometimes with cook. I litterally have to let her know that the box is ready and she should clear the queue. Still her priority was to finish the conversation and then get the box. Finally the food, they gave us was a wrong order and then wings itself was not properly made. It lacked sasce (as we odered sausy). Looked and tasted mainly just a regular fried chicken. The 2nd time we told them about wrong order and lack of sasces the previous time. Got a rude response in return but still again, we got the dish with less to no sausce. The order was right this time.
The whole experience is very unlikely from little bones team. I get it the business is expanding, the prices have gone up by in a year but please dont take your customers for granted. The diminishing quality both in wings and the experience have forced me to start looking for alternatives. We are your fan, please dont loose your loyal customers.
You guys have been amazing in the past and with that experience in mind, I look forward to get a better...
