Silver Spike Saloon — Restaurant in Winnipeg

I'm probably not the best judge, as I was there for Sud-Spud... but it was quite poorly run. There's wasn't a system to use your drink voucher before the food was ready- so people that only wanted one drink were having to either purchase a drink (despite having paid for a free one with their ticket), or, purchase their first drink and give away their second (pre-paid) drink. The food was not ready for nearly 2 hours after the event began. $25 for a domestic beverage, potato wedges, and a plain patty on a bun with a side of a mustard and ketchup condiment is steep, even for a fundraiser. They did offer a vegetarian option, but the veggie burger took so long to get to me, that my entire table had stood in line, recieved thier food, and finished eating by the time I (not the staff) walked up to the serving station to see where it was at. The tables were not cleared at all of plates, etc, during the 2 hours we were on-site. More staff were needed, especially for an event where sold ticket numbers are well...

First visit and had a blast! No cover charges. We came in just before 10pm after the live bands finished performing at Hi Neighbour Festival and there wasn’t any lineup yet but it was already packed inside. Pop Vegas was playing and they are an amazing band playing very high energy covers. Every single member of the band put on such a great show. They are such a joy to watch and the music was so good to dance to. Dance floor was packed! When band is taking a break, the DJ played great music as well. They have good security, no drinks on the dance floor which is a good rule. Drinks are priced fair. Bar service was good. Clean and has good decors. Will definitely come back as we enjoyed so much! Can’t believe we’ve never visited here before. Definitely a gem...

The waitress we’ve had on our last few visits was amazing!!! I now know to order (Smirnoff ice) as smirf, she totally gets me !!! The bartender was freaking awesome, told him nothing creamy nothing hard… he gave me a shot with no name!!! No name shots are now My favourite (will be yours too if you like chocolate mint flavour). The live bands were great especially Jukebox Heroes!!!! I always enjoy their show, which means I’m always dancing!!! There was one band a few weeks back on a night out that didn’t strike me as hot and the set list was maybe out of their wheel house … was hard to hit the dance floor …but then the DJ totally rocked it.
