Kept very clean. There isn't too much space, though there aren't too few seats as there are a handful of tables and a bench. This one happens to have just a single register so if there's a lineup for whatever reason such as on a Big Mary Monday, you'll want to be mindful of that. Portion sizes were great as they should be for a bit elevated pricing (which you can bring down a bit by doing the receipt surveys). Although I haven't used SkipTheDishes for this location mostly on account of STD's large fee to my location, the one thing that struck out to me in particular is that the staff here keeps constant communication going about the requests people do for their orders and when drivers are about to show up, on top of having orders ready just in time for that, which is awesome.
November 2022 update: to keep it fair with the update to my review of the Grant Park location I have to yank away a star here on account of the fact that the chain's fries have been silently changed and are much worse off as a result, plus menu prices continue to creep up. They're much smaller, and they leave a rather poor aftertaste in your mouth. Just like one other critic I had seen saying, if I wanted tinier fries, I'd go to a place like McDonald's instead. But I am happy to report that the same staff are still at it, and arguably if I had a choice of which Mary Brown's to go work at, this one would be a top contender. Big Marys are still done well here though the amount of lettuce you get can be a bit inconsistent at times to the point that you should probably specify extra just to be on...
Read moreI'd like to share my honest review after my first and obviously my last visit too. I ordered take out lunch and specifically told the cashier no pickles as I cannot tolerate it and I feel ill when I eat it. She smiled and said ok and even told the person in the back "no pickles". I received my order and went back to my office. I am all ready to dive in my food and there were 4 pickles in my sandwich. Outside felt like about 39°C, so I called and made a report and was told to take it back. I had about 10 minutes left for my lunch so I told them I will take it back at 6 pm when I left work. I remained hungry all this time as I didn't touch the meal. At 6 pm, I took it back and was told that I would get a free meal after being ignored for a few minutes. Finally, she attended to me and gave me a sandwich without pickles which is ok but then she took the cold wedges from the previous food and stuffed it into the bag with the new sandwich and said sorry. I asked her what about my refund as she said she would give me a free meal. Then she switched and said, no she can only exchange. I told her to take back their sandwich and I'd rather a refund. I asked for a manager and she said none is available. A supervisor? She proceeded to talk to someone in their own language while disregarding me. This I found very distasteful, unprofessional, and disrespectful. Yes, I got the refund and gave them back the sandwich and cold wedges but, I felt there was no care about what happened. I hope one manager of this store sees this and take some action....
Read moreI ordered this through Uber Eats and while Uber Eats was great it was the chicken I had an issue with. I ordered the 13 piece feast which comes with in my case coleslaw and gravy. While the chicken tasted good it was the portion sizes I had an issue with, of the pieces of chicken in the boxes 6 were wings and 4 were drumsticks so it really only had 3 decent sized pieces of chicken. Now I am aware that drumsticks and wings are always part of any feast but this amount of wings and drumsticks seemed a little high to me. I was told through Uber Eats that that is normal practice at Mary Browns and sometimes you get what you get. Suffice it to say I will not be ordered from Mary Browns Regent Avenue again. Having spent close to $100.00 I would expect more, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised customer service in general has gone downhill, people just don't care. It is the world we live in...
