The waitress came over to our table. I asked her to find out if they had gravy with no mushrooms. Due to I cannot have mushrooms due to allergy. She went to the back and asked, and they said they can give gravy with no mushrooms. I made it very clear numerous times that I cannot eat mushrooms. She came back told me there was none.So I ordered the the hamburger steak, with it came rice pilaf, french fries, she asked me if I wanted salad. I said, yes, can you put it in a box? She proceeded to take my order because she was a new waitress. So she was going to be slow, hoping that by the time she got to other people, they would be ready for placing their order. She never asked us if we wanted anything to drink. After receiving our dinner, I was eating French fries that were on my plate started to look at something in my Rice and realized there was mushrooms in the Rice. Sure enough. After moving rice around, I found a nice, big sized piece of mushroom after me saying no mushrooms due to allergies. The cook's knowing that I could not have the gravy because of the mushrooms should have not ever even put the rice on my plate. It seemed really funny. She brought my plate back very quickly. So they probably just took the rice off and put extra fries on it. My husband's food was under seasoned, so he had to put lots of salt and pepper on it. There was one jumbo shrimp on his plate, which is a $6 piece of shrimp. One of the dinners was at clubhouse, there was more lettuce than anything else on it. The Alfredo sauce was not creamy, like it's supposed to be more like a watery soup. I was sitting at the bottom of the bowl. I didn't know there was alfredo sauce on it to begin with.Until I stirred things around. When we said it was our birthdays, the waitress asked for our names so they could come out and sing to us. So there was 2 of us which was Addison and Roger and they came out singing, happy birthday Addison and Jerry. She asked if everything would be on one bill and I said yes, when she brought the bill, I noticed that there was nothing done about my meal. I don't expect my meal to be free. But I would have thought that they would have somehow given a discount or the manager of the store, I would have come and apologized for the Huge mistake that was made when I paid for the food. I chose not to give a tip as well. We didn't feel the service was great and we did not enjoy our food. 3 of us out of 5, had something wrong with their food. After I paid for it, the waitress had the nerve to come back and ask If we made a mistake and put no tip, or if we were going to leave the cash on the table, it shocked all of us that that even came out of her mouth. She did try to say well. This is only my fourth shift it is not my problem that it is her fourth shift and anybody who has the audacity to come up and ask a customer for a tip, is ridiculous. My husband went back to try to talk to the manager because he was disgusted by all of what had happened tonight. They offered him a free piece of cake or a shot. Why would they offer somebody a shot? Not knowing whether or not they are even driving as there is a 0 tolerance to any kind of alcohol in your system at all. A piece of cake or a shot is not going to make a difference in all the mistakes that were made. We will never go back to the pony corral on Nairn Avenue.
Thank you Very unhappy...
Read more2 of us went on an early Saturday aft for my mom's bday dinner. We both decided on the full rack Greek ribs meal for 38$ and an unknown up charge of 4$ for a ceaser salad total $42. Unfortunately it was probably one of the worst rib meals we ever had. The "rack" of ribs came precut which I am not a fan of to begin and was surprised. The lemon potatoes were not dry and were the best things on the plate. The veg was under cooked and cold and the ribs were terrible. Once some food was moved around you could tell that the plate was placed under a salamander to heat up as the ribs were charred and tasted burnt, as well there were 2 potatoes that were black on top due to the intense heat from the top. You can see some char in the picture but there are a few pieces that are more charred under the ribs and there is a second potato in the back that is fully black but unable to see in the photo. The ribs were dry, chewy and basically had to knaw off the bone. The flavors of the char is that acidic burnt lemon flavor that you get when you burn lemon...it was very unpleasant. I am never one to leave food on my plate but neither of us ate 1/2 of what was there. We were asked a few bites in if things were OK and at that time we basically ate the potatoes and seemed fine. The plates were cleared hardly eaten, and had mentioned that the ribs were burnt and an apology was given and that was the end of that. This review is mostly for management to take a look at what is being put out . Clearly these ribs were old, dried out and reheated until burnt in a manner that you could clearly tell was inappropriate just by looking at the plate and smelling it. These were definitely not fresh ribs! When you pay 100$ for 2 dinners you would expect some...
Read moreWe eat here about once a month and keep coming back because it's good food in a warm comfortable place with great staff. There is a lounge area that's great for game nights but that serves the full menu as well. There is even a small area (up 2 small steps) off the dining area that is excellent for bigger groups who want a little privacy. The main dining area is clean and has a lovely warm fireplace in one corner. The patio is open in the summer but I've never sat there so I can't speak to what it's like. The food is Greek influenced but they serve standard fare like burgers, sandwiches, steaks, etc. Their soups are especially yummy but they can be quite filling. They have a huge Greek salad and make a great burger. Their Greek ribs are a highlight, as is the chicken souvlaki. They know how to cook veal well, which is harder to find that you'd think, and offer a variety of specials each week. A guilty pleasure of mine is the grilled cheese & bacon sandwich. Two kinds of cheese, just the right amount of goo and yummy for when you need comfort food. If you still have room (the portions are quite large) they offer a rotating selection of drool-inducing desserts. This is the best of the Pony Corral group in my opinion, and feels like the kind of place that every neighborhood should have. Now if they just offered sweet...
