I am writing this review to share my disappointing experience at your restaurant, which has unfortunately led me to reconsider recommending it to others. For the past three years, this has been our go-to spot, and Iāve recommended it to many of my family and friends. However, after todayās visit, I regret to say that I can no longer do so.
Though we recently moved to a different part of the city, we still made the effort to come back for our favorite South Indian food. Upon arrival, we saw there were no tables available for 2 people, so we opted for a larger table. After waiting for 20-25 minutes without anyone attending to us, a short-statured staff member approached and simply handed us the menu. I politely requested that she clean the dirty table, but instead, she suggested we move to another table because it was cleaner. This felt dismissive of our comfort, as we had already settled in and preferred to stay.
When I repeated my request to clean the table and mentioned we were more comfortable where we were, the staff member gave me an unpleasant look and walked away without a word, only returning later with a cloth to wipe the table. It was at that point that we decided to leave.
To make matters worse, when I asked for her name to speak with the manager, she refused to provide it. This is unprofessional, especially when someone is dissatisfied with their service. Later, when she tried to explain that she hadnāt made any faces, she pointed to my husband and asked if he noticed her passing smile. Now, you can well imagine how unprofessional and unnecessary that response was.
Another staff member came over to apologize and suggested I leave a review if I wished, which I am doing now. I truly hope the management will take this feedback seriously, as customer service has clearly declined. This once great place now seems to be losing its touch, which is reflected in the growing number of negative reviews.
Previously, the service here was exceptional, which is why we kept coming back. However, this recent experience makes it clear why others are sharing their frustrations. If the management doesnāt take action to address these issues, I fear for the future of this restaurant.
Iād be happy to discuss the situation further with the manager if possible. However, I must say that, based on this experience, I can no longer recommend this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis has been the same way that weāve been treated at this restaurant for several times now. The staff members are rude to a great extent that this time around, we had to leave before we could even order our food. The staff member came to us to hand the menu and left, the whole ordeal took place within a time span of 3-5 seconds. She said something to us but it was impossible to hear as everything she said was said when she was already walking away from us. We waited about 15-20 minutes for someone to come to us to take the order but no one came. We went to the counter to find out that the āMurMurMurā sound we heard when the staff member was walking away from us was her telling us that we have to come to the front counter to order food. These things have been consistent since a long time now, even before the pandemic started. The only reason we ever go to this location is because this is very close to where we live. Iāll personally be telling all friends and family members and everyone in the community to never visit this location because we donāt want anyone to experience such treatment. This isnāt the worst Indian Restaurant in the city, this is the worst restaurant in the city regardless of the cuisine.
About their handling of the pandemic, the store was dirty. Food was on the floor and the tables werenāt clean either. 9 out of 10 times Iāve been to this location, even before the pandemic, the cutlery Iāve been provided with wasnāt clean either. Iāve had to clean the plate and spoons with water and a napkin...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI did not had good experience today. Their menus are not updated, so I thought mango falooda is 7.5 (on menu) and ordered it. But it was 10 dollar when I checked out. When I said the same to owner, he told me that it is ok if I donāt want to pay the whole bill. Like I was just demanding the price I saw on menu, I didnāt told him that I donāt want to pay. He gave me excuse that theyāre new owners, then why donāt you update your menus first before taking over restaurants from previous owners. Their waiter was good and behaving well, so Iām giving 2 star, she looked punjabi, better then owner who looked Gujarati. When I was eating the owner was being rude to her and saying her things about payments in not a good way. Be little polite sir. I didnāt told him anything as he was older in age than me. My parents always told me to respect elders, but when you give respect, you always get respect, specially this is CANADA. He should read this and not repeat the mistake again with other customers. I will definitely not come to location nor will I order something with uber/Skip. At the end he discounted me falooda and gave it for 7.5, which I paid and left after he apologised. But the way he addressed that if you donāt want to pay itās okā¦. That hurted me from inside, he looked Gujarati and Iām Gujarati myself, but other restaurants in Winnipeg owned by Gujarati are much better than this. I am writing the honest review even if it is bitter sir. Jay Mataji Jay...
