If you enjoy paying double the average eBay sale price (yes, often double or more) for games with price stickers superglued onto them, this is the store for you!
Next time you’re bored, go to PNP Games and compare their prices to PriceCharting and/or sold eBay listings. You’ll have a good laugh. Trust me.
Anyone who still buys retro games from here is a complete mark. I used to shop here often — it’s sad how they became so comfortable with blatantly overpricing their stuff. Games which go for $10 on eBay are often sold for $30 here. It’s a joke.
They don’t even get to use the “you don’t have to worry about the game not working like you do with eBay sellers” excuse anymore. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve received dead discs from here.
Unless you’re shopping current gen, stay the hell away. Even then, I just don’t see what PNP Games has to offer anymore.
If you want to support local, go on Facebook Marketplace or watch out for an A2theK popup. PNP isn’t local anymore — and the level of blatant, shameless greed that they exhibit is reminiscent of a large corp...
Read moreManager of the medowood store made 3 errors with my purchase, first, he didnt redeem points like requested for $10, second he gave me the wrong saga genesis game (streets of rage when I clearly asked for streets of rage 2) and 3rdly gave me playstation final fantacy 4 disc case and didnt put the discs in it before I left the store, drove all the way home an hour away and ended up having to go all the way back that weekend to have evrything fixed. Got in touch with head office and they were able to make things a bit better for me and when I returned to the store to get the missing discs, a comment was made by one of the employees that the manager had messed up another purchase, so I wasnt the only one. I will on the other hand highly recommend the store on McLeod, I've been there several times and have NEVER had an issue, the manager is very knowledgable and...
Read moreIt’s a fine store, in terms of the actual store itself it checks all the boxes: clean, great presentation, pleasant staff, and a solid selection.
My only real issue is their prices on some items, specifically retro titles. Everything’s either market or over market. I understand that shops like these are always going to be more expensive than eBay because you get a guarantee of the product you’re buying, but jeez $25 for Quantum of Solace on PS3, $105 for Metroid Prime Echoes, $85 for Double Dash disc only…
PNP definitely is aware they’re one of the few retro game shops in Winnipeg and I can respect what they’re doing from a business point of view, but as a consumer it can make it challenging to shop here for retro games.
Still a solid store and would definitely recommend if you’re in the Winnipeg area, but just have a way to compare...
