Absolute WORST server and service time experience I’ve had in my entire life! My partner and I came in, waiting for other members of our party to join us. We got greeted after standing at the front desk for 5-10 minutes. We got seated, and did not get asked if we wanted any drinks while we waited. Once the other people in our group joined us at our table, we had been sitting for 30 minutes before our server Kate came to ask us if we wanted drinks. At that point we were ready to order our food, so we ordered our drinks and food at the same time. We ran into the hurdle of not being able to order about 4 different menu options because they were out of the ingredients needed for various dishes, which was a little annoying. I ended up settling on a dish I didn’t really want. Fast forward about 30 minutes, neither our food nor drinks had been brought to our table. My dad waved down the manager Leah who then rectified the situation by getting us our drinks immediately. About 10 minutes after this, our food was brought to our tables but we still hadn’t been provided any cutlery or napkins so had to wait an additional 5-10 minutes for our server to roll cutlery. When I asked our server Kate about why our food took so long to arrive, she got pressed with us and huffed that there is “only one kitchen” and she had 2 birthday parties she was serving. At this point, there had only been 4 other small tables. Our food took a long time to arrive, and was cold in spots like it had been microwaved. My dad asked for a different plate of food. At that point, everyone in our group had finished eating except for my dad. Kate came to ask us if we wanted to order dessert, and I told her politely we’d prefer to wait for our dad to be done eating so we can eat our desserts together. Kate proceeded to come back to our table 3-5 times within the next 10 minutes to ask if we’d like to order dessert yet, and would shake her head or roll her eyes each time we had to elaborate repetitively that we’d like our dad to be done his food first. When we finally did order dessert, I had asked for a warm apple pie with a scoop of ice cream. The pie was not warm at all, in fact frozen in the middle. Kate got defensive about this, because she had “microwaved it for 30 seconds”. We also had asked for coffees to go with our desserts. This server slammed our coffee pots down on the table, initially did not provide us mugs and never brought us any spoons to stir our coffee.
I’ve worked at various family restaurants myself, including a Smitty’s location in Winnipeg. I am appalled at the attitude that the server had given us when we were very polite and patient with her. I have never been treated so rudely by a server. She kept blaming her lack of organization on the kitchen staff and the manager, saying they had too many tables, ran out of ingredients, had to watch the lounge, etc. Overall, a dinner that should have been done within an hour or so kept us stuck at the restaurant for over 2 and a half hours. Meanwhile, we watched multiple groups being served also by Kate in and out of the restaurant during the time we were there. This location is tidy, but the server was not doing her job in the slightest. Please hire someone with actual serving experience and work ethic, who can handle the stress of working in a restaurant, and maybe our family will consider coming back to your location for a second chance.
The only kudos I will give is to the manager Leah, who was very kind and courteous from the get go right as she started her shift. She listened to us voice our concerns and helped us to rectify the service issues in a timely manner. I will come back for...
Read moreI was there with a group of five including myself tonight, Monday April 28/25 and was quite disappointed with the service at least. We sat and had drink orders taken right away, our server then went away for a few minutes, returned and was told we needed another moment to decide. She did not return at all after drinks were dropped off and I had to literally get up and go find her, tell her that we've been waiting for a while to order (not exaggerating).
After ordering, the server told us that a rush would be put on the food due to the wait, which was done, the food did come out fairly quickly at that point, great. Though I personally was brought the wrong order, some kind of rice and steak with vegetables dish instead of the Philly cheesesteak as requested. My mother-in-law ordered a small chicken Caesar salad, there was no chicken on it. My niece was not given gravy with her order as well as requested, we had to ask. I got the attention of our server who took back my food and replaced it with the proper order (though the steak in the sandwich was kind of dry, perhaps overcooked). I didn't know about the missing chicken until later on. No drink refills were offered once, either by our server or one of the other ladies that stopped by our table tonight as well. We were merely told that the drinks were not going to be charged to us (which they weren't) and by that I just mean two soft drinks and a tea, others had water.
Really not very happy with our service tonight, last time was much better and today was not busy either. It was busy last visit and fine. Read moreAbsolutely awful experience, first and last time I've ever been to this location... we went for dinner Sunday night with some family from out of town the lounge side was completely empty took the waitress 20 mins to get us our drinks took our order 30 mins for food to come, we all got our food except one person who sat there until everyone finished to get there food 35mins from the time we all got our meals to the time he got his.. (it was chicken fingers and fries) how long does that normally take?? We had to ask numerous time's for cutlery,and sides we missing from our dinners. I can understand if a restaurant is busy but for a Sunday night it was completely dead... i had told our waitress we are not payin for the meal that came out 35 mins after everyone else got theres she said she would talk to the manager.... as I got my bill they discounted the price, that to me was a slap I called the manager over and he continue to say there was no issues and he would only discount it. Im sorry but im a manager myself and the service was horrendous at this location... i told the manager that regardless if you only comp meals if things wrong with it.. well sir there was a mistake we were told they messed up on the chicken fingers and had to make new ones which took 35 mins to make?? Really chicken fingers?? Than the manager tells me the kitchen busy... well I don't care how busy the kitchen was... you guys messed up his dinner it should of been made first if you really wanna get practical. I will NEVER come back to this place, and ill make damn sure I share my awful experience with ppl so they know how awful this location is... who ever owns this franchisee or is the GM you really better check your management and staff on how to properly run your restaurant before...
