On a whim, my wife and I decided to stop in here before our 45 minute drive home for some frappuchinos. Tim Horton's is our usual go-to, but we decided to do something different.
The lady at the drive thru was very patient and pleasant as she waited for us to decide on what to order. We waited at the window as she and her coworker made our drinks as well as helped the customers inside the store. The first drink wasn't what I ordered, but I didn't mind or say anything. I'm not fussy... She stuck her head out, and apologized for the wait for the second drink as they had to make a batch of something for it. Then she came back, apologized that she gave me the wrong drink. I offered to give it back, even through I had already tasted it, but she declined, gave me the correct drink, and told us to keep the wrong one. She was more concerned that she had given us the wrong drink in the first place, and we would have 3 total.
My wife and I laughed about it as she went to make the final drink. The lady kept us laughing the whole time, and although there was a wait, we didn't really notice or care. I wondered aloud if the baristas were allowed to take tips, and checked for some cash to try to give the barista.
The drive thru window opened, and we got our last drink, and before I could ask about tips, she handed me two cookies, and again apologized for the wait and the incorrect drink. I was too surprised to ask about the tip and we thanked her profusely. We drove away as I mentally kicked myself for not tipping the barista. My wife looked over at me and said "that was a great ending to the evening."
I'm sorry I didn't get your name, but if you read this, you know who you are. I had just taken my wife out for supper on her birthday, and after a little shopping, it had been a long day for both of us.
I just want to say thank you, whatever your name is. It was well worth the time and money to drive out of our way, and...
Read moreThis is one of my favorite locations, as far as Starbucks goes in Winnipeg.
Location: easy to find, easy to access, good parking. If the drive through is busy, it will flood into the parking lot.
Facility: newer, clean, and overall well maintained. Washrooms are usually excellently maintained. Comfortable chairs.
Staff: the majority friendly and helpful
Products: a typical Starbucks. Coffee, light food, and desserts. Selection is no different than anywhere else.
Beverages: If you are looking for quality specialty coffee, Starbucks in general isn't the place to go. If you don't mind a sub par macchiato or latte, Starbucks might be the place for you. Quality of beverage really seems dependant of who's making it, rather than location. It can be hit or miss anywhere. The unique cold beverages are quite interesting and often delicious. Everything is
Food: meh, it never looked appealing enough to purchase.
Coffee beans and other goods: I don't recommend the beans. Some of the other apparel is good, but the price is outrageous.
Points and rewards: Starbucks has a star points systems. Each dollar spent is two stars awarded. There are often promotional offers "Buy three drinks over the next 5 days and earn an additional 20 stars!!" Type thing. 400 point can be used for a 20 dollar item on the store shelf. It's a decent reward system, it used to be better, but at least it's based on expenditure, rather than a single coffee out of an entire order (Tim Hortons).
Overall: great facilities, but higher prices and middle of the road product.
Recommendations: True North Coffee, black Blonde Latte Carmel Macchiato Cookie Crumble Frap Banana Loaf Chocolate Loaf Java Bean Frap
Kids: Passionfruit iced lemonade (name may not be...
Read moreI asked question about birthday reward. I looked online said just need to make a purchase using the account 7 days before birthday, just want to confirm if that’s correct. The staff Kayla said :I don’t know, some people tell me is 6 months before birthday, I asked if she can ask her manager she said she is the one in charge, I feel sad that she could not answer my question as someone in charge. And she doesn’t want to find out the answer for me.
When I try to pay, it is a new account I am using I didn’t have the payment link there, I was looking at how to pay, she seemed very impatient, I was trying to add a gift card, so I can get 2 points every one dollar spend, she said so you never use a Starbuck app before? The way she asked sound rude like I never order Starbucks. I was feeling uncomfortable and just trying to pay, I said that is ok then, I will just pay this, she said pay what? She said really loud and sound questioning me again. I said my drink. She said I have already add to the order. Well as a customer how do I know?
I am an long term customer, everywhere I go the staff were really patient, but seemed like this staff had some attitude problem. Can’t answer general question and also...
