I'm a regular at this Starbucks because it's so close to my house. They know me as "the person with birds in their backpack" or "the person with the cool hat."
I've always had wonderful experiences here and it's honestly my favorite Starbucks in the city. All the staff have been very kind, wonderful, and extremely hard-working people! 💪 I'm not sure how much everyone is getting paid, but it should honestly be more. It feels like everyone (for the most part) genuinely enjoys their jobs, however it is easy to notice when they're stressed because they're understaffed that day. (I once saw someone training two people at the exact same time...😬)
My only criticism is that I do NOT think employee reviews (or was it an interview???) should be done in front of the store, which I witnessed on August 13. I feel like that is unnecessary pressure on staff because it could make them feel like they have an audience when there are customers around them. A private area (or even going outside if the weather is nice!) feels much more appropriate. I felt very awkward overhearing it. I hope this is something their temporary manager, Laura, takes into consideration.
PS: SARAH IS THE BEST BARISTA!!! They have such an infectiously positive personality and it is absolutely a joy whenever they are serving me. I could be having the worst day ever but Sarah's positivity makes me smile too. I know they're new and I commend them for their fantastic...

I frequent Starbucks on a daily basis, usually the one on Taylor Ave. I have always been a fan of the brand, that was till tonight when my wife and I ran into a staff member called Francis at this location. Firstly the store was having some merchant services problems (a common occurrence at Starbucks all over Winnipeg), and then they did not have my preferred brew.
Tongue in cheek I arrived at the window jokingly remarked that they are in for an even of fun, since nothing seems to work. At this point Francis threw a hissy fit, with a barrage of less than respectful remarks directed at me. I pointed out to him that I was in fact just trying to bring some humor into the evening to lighten the mood. This made now difference to Francis, who continued his infantile temper tantrum. At this point I decided to cancel our order and remove ourselves from a hostile environment.
As I drove off after cancelling the order Francis sarcastically shouted "ok bye!" ... I suppose the fact that I speak with an accent provided Francis with the courage to show such utter disrespect towards me and my wife. Clearly the man do not possess the emotional intelligence required to hold a position of responsibility or to deal with the public directly. I will never set foot at this location again.
Francis will always remain the "face" of this...
Read moreI am disgusted by the service at this location.
The cashier was talking to another co-worker for a good 10 minute's before serving us... they were talking about their own personal matters with each other. When we finally got served the cashier was quite rude and rushed so she could continue to carry on. When leaving didn't even say have a good day just said here is your drink and again continued to speak with her buddies at work.
The other staff member that she was talking to was drinking from her cup behind where they were making our coffees. Which means pulling down her mask to do so. Same person screamed really loud with excitement over something that another worker said. The whole experience was loud and very unprofessional. It was a bunch of teenagers carrying on and not actually working.
Just no professionalism at this location. Will not...
