Went for a smash burger this evening.. Won’t be doing that again anytime soon. First off, didn’t know this when we walked in, but Tuesday’s smash burgers are on special.. $19 something.. comes with a beer, spirit or pop.. the beer was Pabst.. so NO.. asked for tequila shot .. oh can’t have that.. it’s a premium? Further down the same menu.. tequila on special $3.99 a shot??? Ok so we’ll just take the burgers. Oh no, you can’t have the one dollar off if you’re not going to drink Pabst Blue Ribbon.. what a joke! Next, burger is supposed to come with pickles (plural), grilled onions (plural) yadda yadda. Got our burgers .. one small pickle and maybe 10 chopped tiny pieces of onion (picture to follow). Ordered gravy for the fries which was not brought with the meal. Don’t know where our waitress was .. had two different people bring the burgers.. then the gravy (only ordered one, got two); asked for extra onions as I had very little on my burger. Waited, finally got the onions, my burger was now luke warm.. Worst burger/service I’ve ever had going to this Tavern! The waitress actually said the manager was going to charge us for the extra onions.. Excuse me???? There were no onions on my burger, so to say you were going to charge for something that was included and SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE BURGER TO BEGIN WITH is an insult to say the least. Don’t even get me started on our waitress who tried to be funny by asking if we wanted water and when we replied no she said “oh, you don’t want to lose your buzz!” Hello? Is that the way you speak to customers? I sure hope not, and for your information.. I hadn’t had a drink yet, so there was no buzz to be had. Read the room hun.. maybe, you would make more. I would like to pass my extremely positive feedback at the Tavern United.
I went there on a Wings night and wonderful and extremely friendly server Shelby was assigned to our table,
I would like to leave a extremely positive review about Shelby as she was not just excellent, perfectionist, wonderful, humble and kind person but also she was so friendly and kind that me and my friends all had a great time,
Shelby greeted us with a fantastic smile and a positive approach. She was so humble and kind, and came to check on us almost every single time she crossed our table,
I usually go to Tavern but I must say Shelby is my favourite staff and she’s the most humble and kind person in Winnipeg.
Me and my friends loved our recent visit to the Tavern and would like to appreciate Shelby on her wonderful hospitality and welcome!!!
Now if I’m ever coming back to Tavern I’m always requesting for Shelby as I know I’m talking to genuine person who’s just not there to earn money!!!
I’m requesting to the manager of the Tavern if he’s reading this, please make Shelby as your lead hand and may be the server manager as she truly outshines and a wonderful wonderful awesome human being,
Nevertheless a massive credit goes to the hiring team who have hired people like Shelby who are always welcoming and most importantly humble...

First visit was on a Friday, when their was a jets game. Very poor first experience with this restaurant. Took 15 minutes just to get seated. When seated, took about 10-15 minutes to get our drinks. I noticed even the security guy started serving and seating guests as they were heavily short staffed. Our server didn't tell us about the specials or anything, but took our order. As we were waiting I noticed an abundance of plates piled up at the running window for servers, probably 10 orders, ours included. Plates started being served and we got ours in about 10 minutes after ordering drinks. We didn't get any cutlery, napkins, salt or pepper until we asked. Food was tasty, price isn't too bad but the service that night left a very poor taste in my mouth. That visit would be 1/5.
Second visit we tried it again, this time on a Tuesday but a bit earlier, around 5 (as opposed to 6:30). Got seated withing a minute, were presented the specials and delivered napkins, condiments and utensils without asking. Got our food within 15 minutes of getting there and was tasty like last time. This experience I would say 5/5. Mix those together and I'd say 3/5 over all with my experiences. Perhaps the staff were having a bad night/short...
