Not a good experience tonight. Its been a while since I've been to this Timmy's location. I was meeting a friend for coffee at 830 pm, arriving early, I went inside to get a coffee and a muffin. The waitress gave no greeting or indication she was there to serve me. Apparently, she was more interested in the back of the store then talking about their new Pumpkin Spice muffins. I slid my Tim's vard through the machine and stood there waiting for my order. Five minutes later, I asked the guy where my order was. He asked her and she indicated the transaction hadn't gone through. I went over to re-try and it wouldn't work, tried again, no go. I gave her the card and she slid it back again, it finally worked. In the meantime, I have a native walking back and forth cursing me out. I received my order and sat a window seat near my vehicle.
While I'm waiting for my friend to go through the check-out and pick up his order, this native was going to different tables and mumbling away while staring at the people who were sitting there. Several people got up and left, while others changed tables. The staff made no attempt to come out from behind the counter and confront this individual. When my friend came to the table and sat down, the native came to the stools at the next table, sat down a cursed us and said things like, "I hope your enjoying that chili, I hope you choke". In the meantime, two guys who were sitting in the front got up and went outside and I noticed they were looking in vehicles out front. My window was down a couple of inches because my dog was inside. They were looking at my vehicle and talking back and forth, and seemed to be looking for an opportunity. I left my coffee and headed out to my vehicle, and found one of the guys crouched down in the darkness of the corner digging in his duffle bag. The other guy was on the other side of my vehicle. I clicked the START and flashed the lights on my vehicle and got into it. A Garda truck pulled up as I backed out. My friend said the security guard asked the native to remove himself from the premises and then he left.
My point is this, the staff appeared very inexperience with customer relations and safety. Neither one came out and explained anything to the customers (12 to 15) that come and went what was going on. The corner where you walk to your car is very, very dark, especially when you walk out of a brightly lit premises. It made me wonder why people were parking in the middle of the lot in the brighter lights, instead of by the strip mall. IS THIS HOW TIM HORTON'S APPRECIATES IT'S CUSTOMERS AT...
Read moreDear Ken Jur: I was and am now a former customer as of last night (Jan. 31, 2020). Where to start? Your staff are great. But, I am sorry, you're severely understaffed in the evening and unsafe to attend. I observed how hard your staff work, and how impossible it would be to service the front of the house with all the non payers loitering and sleeping in your establishment. I do not blame these employees. I put the blame on the owner/management. Last night (Jan. 31, 2020 at around 8:20 pm) was the tip of the iceberg, when you had a customer scream to everyone in the restaurant. Calling people crack heads when there were kids in your restaurant. One of the staff who was helping her was having money thrown at him on many occasions. Please, go to McDonald's in the lot. You never see this drama nor do you see lack of staff. You need to do a better job on staffing and security. Fridays are my days. I like to enjoy my evening with a cup of coffee and relax with friends. Times need to change in your restaurant. Your staff are not babysitters and should not have to go through what they did last night. Moreover, I would suggest having a reasonable washroom use policy for customers. Non-paying customers are going in and staying too long plus leaving huge mess in the washroom. I understand your staff will not have the time to attend cleaning the washroom as serving the customers is their first priority. I would rather have my order served fast than wait in line because only one staff can attend the front of the store and the other one is busy cleaning the washroom, taking the dishes, or maintaining cleanliness. It would be better if there is one dedicated person to do all the cleaning stuff while two or three persons are solely dedicated at the front to provide better service. Furthermore, I would suggest having a full time security from the hours of 6pm till 11pm. It is during these times, that "drama" is happening.
I may come back to this location when I see changes or better...
