Sizzling Filipino Restaurant is a welcome addition to Yellowknife’s food scene — a cozy, casual place where you can enjoy the comforting flavors of Filipino cuisine. With a wide menu to choose from, there’s something for everyone, whether you’re craving savory classics or something sweet.

One of my personal favorites is the sariwang lumpia (fresh spring rolls) — a light and refreshing dish that’s also a great choice for vegans. I also really enjoy their lechon kawali (crispy pork belly) and pork barbecue, both full of flavor and cooked just right. Another dish I’d highly recommend is the sizzling bangus — served hot and savory, it’s a must-try!

They offer “bilao” party platters, perfect for sharing with family or friends, and the family-style service makes it ideal for group meals.

There’s also a variety of Filipino desserts on the menu, adding a sweet end to a hearty meal.

Extremely disappointed with the service. First time dining, and it was a major letdown. The staff was untrained and unprofessional, no greeting upon arrival, instead we were immediately told they were closing at 8pm, even though we arrived more than an hour before that.

We have dietary restrictions, so when we specifically asked if both the fresh and fried spring rolls were vegetarian, the server confirmed they were. After taking a bite of the fried one, we realized something was wrong. When we clarified, she insisted she only said the fresh one was vegetarian and even tried to gaslight us, claiming she never said both were.The lack of accountability and the attitude we received was terrible. Instead of offering an apology, we were met with defensiveness. They really need to be more careful with these things, especially when it comes to dietary restrictions.

First and only experience. Won’t be going again. Nonexistant front of house. No greeting which one would at least expect from a new business. No one came to our table to advise as to ordering process or menu provision. Sour looks from staff demonstrating a couldn’t care less attitude. No assistance or direction as to ordering process. Confusing at best. Many other patrons commented negatively before walking out. We asked for some clarrification on dessert menu items at counter and received a rather curt response as to what was not available and then staff member just walked away.
