I came for the sunset view but was completely captivated by the food. I had a simple salad that was made special with a clever mix of ingredients followed by their Zuppe Di Pesce. Easily the best I’ve had anywhere in the world. The focal points of the dish was an incredibly tender lobster tail and the catch of the day, fresh swordfish. I was actually watching the fishermen cleaning the catch earlier in the day just a 30 second walk away. Now that fresh! The dish also featured scallops, shrimp, and mussels all swimming in a mouthwatering tomato based broth. I happened to speak to the chef when I first arrived and mentioned that I can’t eat wheat ie their homemade pasta was not in the card for me. He surprised me with a small plate of gnocchi made from breadfruit! It was shockingly fantastic. Thank you Chef Adriano. The Zuppe was easily enough food for 2 people and I polished off most of it, so I was planning on skipping desert. After reviewing the dessert menu I changed my mind. It was hard to choose but I went with the fresh key lime mousse. I savoured it slowly as the sun started to set. Light, creamy and barely sweet. The flavour of the fresh, local key lime balanced perfectly. It was like eating a delicious cloud. I’m planning on stopping by tomorrow to try the guava panacotta.

First, bring your patience. If you only have an hour before the boat gets going, then perhaps not the place to come to. But with that caveat out of the way, let's begin. Fairly close walk from the cruise port, the restaurant is on the second floor. Choice is yours for patio or not. The view is pretty nice, but if it's hot, head inside. The menu has many options, including pizza. Everything is priced in CI, so be aware of that. I went with a local beer, that was pretty good, the Vele house salad, and the lobster pizza. The salad was nice and fairly lite. The surprise was the Peruvian Peppers. Really great flavor and went well with the salad. The pizza was equally nice, seafood was cooked well, crust nice and thin. I like this place. It's family run with a chef in back and another person up front spinning the pizzas with oven right there in the dining room. Again, the patio views are really nice, you can see the ship and gorgeous waters.

We walked in for an early dinner tonight and Daniel accommodated us by giving us the best table in the entire restaurant (it was just after the cruise ships had boarded so the downtown area was pretty deserted) -- outside on the north deck, northern most table. Daniel brought us an amuse bouche of tomato, onion, and sardine which really cleansed the palate and set the tone for an amazing meal. We started with the Tomatoes and Mozzarella and the Salmon and Swordfish Carpaccio. Both were very good. We completed the meal with the Margherita Pizza which was simple and understated but very fresh with a delicious chewy crust. We finished the evening off with a Panna cotta drizzled with mango syrup and coconut shavings. The food was great but it was really the service (Daniel) and the view/atmosphere that put this place over the top for us. I would definitely recommend it to anyone in the area.

Very disappointing experience. Came away thinking the restaurant is solely living on its views and bento orders.

Went as a family of six and arrived about 6:15. There where three tables wi other patrons when we arrived all with no food.

Server took order and drinks and we where given some salmon pate to try which where nice. Watched the sun set and had some bread. Then waited. And waited. And waited.

In the first 45 minutes only 1 table was serviced food. Bento collections however where a revolving door. We continued to wait and wait.

After one hour and fifteen minutes food started to arrive. First came out where the kids stake and a kids pizza. It's claimed pizzas are fresh and cooked in a wood fired oven. Fresh dough bubbles in a wood fire oven. The pizza crust we got was perfectly round with no bubbling. I don't believe it was cooked using fresh dough.

Two adult mains then came 3-4 minutes later. One snapper and one new York strip. The new York strip came out cold including all sides. The fish was warm. The steak was sent back.

Then the remaining two meals came a beef tenderloin and a lamb shank. The beef tenderloin was ordered medium rare and was well done.

The first steak sent back was then brought back to the table. It looked like the same plate and the speed it returned IT could only have been microwaved. The steak was ordered medium and was well done.

Both steaks where taken away and as this was the second time the new York strip had been served we decided we did not want to try again. The manager advised he would take the steaks off the bill. The lamb shank was not enjoyed but eaten.

As two guest still needed to eat as soon as everyone else had finished we asked for the bill.

We asked the server if there was a problem in the kitchen tonight and was advised no it's just busy. The restaurant was full by the time we were leaving but hardly anyone was being served food. From when we arrived only 3 tables had had food. The bento deliveries where a different story. These didn't stop going out the door.

The manager came back and said the chef wanted to buy us a desert but as we where in a rush we obviously didn't want it. I advised we needed to leave so we could get two dinners elsewhere so didn't want a desert although I don't think the offer was genuine.

Nearly 200 USD for a long bad experience and still had to buy two...

Wonderful waitress from Canada- made my husbands birthday reservations in advance via email- with a sweet small... pastry puff I guess one would call it....very sweet and nice. The sweet blonde Canadian waitress was awesome!!!!! ❤️ She makes The restaurant 💕 However- the food..........there were 4 of us- different dishes. The fish in the soup Zuppa De Pesce $39 was almost not edible. Being from Florida the fish was very strong fishy taste and my dish of sirloin and shrimp (3) with a penne (which was not cooked it was rubbery and hard supposed to be homemade pasta) with a strong Mayonnaise sauce?! My Sons “authentic homemade fettuccine Alfredo” was not worth the $40 charged, bland and easily better prepared....by sadly a “chain like Olive Garden “ and much larger portion than a Cup and half. The pizza we ordered as an appetizer was like a frozen pizza we buy at Publix in America. It tasted like you added red cabbage and arugula and drizzled with truffle oil....The “frozen like appetizer pizza” probably was the best thing we ordered as it had truffle oil which was what made it delicious, but small personal pizza not the “blown up” pictures. It had arugula red cabbage, sausage (although never tasted any sausage), the swordfish was absolutely disgusting. My meal was over $300 USA 🇺🇸. With gratuity included. Would not recommend- even though the waitress from Canada was sweet, attentive as she should be for these outrageous prices. We left hungry 🙄🤷‍♀️ Very disappointed being a cook and cooking for my family often, This was just disappointing small portion cup Size meal and outrageous prices and misleading views of the parking lot are so misleading. Kids running behind your table throwing food from other tables not Monitored.... Sorry $300 USA with included gratuity included I’m upset 😡 And hungry. Didn’t even order any alcohol or drinks, just “still water” for $25 🙄Highway robbery not “fine dining “ nor tasty food. 😡😡😡😡😡 This is my first my first “negative “review ever after many positive reviews...

Generally, the food is very good. They give you bread baskets and I think the bread is sourdough (very good). We got frito misto - the seafood was all tender and flavourful. For mains, got the seafood linguine in a tomato sauce. It was good but maybe needs a bit more flavour. Also got the mahi - a bit too charred and a little dry, but generally flavourful and had butter sauce. The mains are medium portions. Desserts were fresh and tasted good but pretty sweet.

The mixed drinks were very good as well.

At an Italian restaurant, i would have preferred Italian music over reggae.

There is not much parking but the sunset /ocean view is really nice and peaceful.

The biggest downside to this restaurant is the service. The two men that served us were lovely and were pretty quick. However when we first arrived, we had to wait maybe 10-15 mins to order drinks, so we ordered everything at the same time. We almost left to be honest.

Another group of 3 came in after us and left after probably waiting about the same amount of time that we did. The waiters eventually noticed and seemed concerned, but the man inside who seemed to be the manager didnt seem to be helping things. Not sure what the deal was.

So if you are willing to wait for good food and are in no rush, this is a good restaurant to try. If you are super hungry and don't want to wait, this is not where...
