After reflecting on the dinner we had tonite to celebrate our 20th anniversary, I couldn’t just let my opinion not matter. That being said, we were promptly seated as I had booked a reservation on open table.
Food: Bread was warm but very ordinary. We ordered the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer and this was probably the highlight of the evening. This was very good and we were expecting to have a great dinner. Wife ordered the filet mignon and I ordered the ribeye. I read some of the reviews prior to deciding on Falls steakhouse and I don’t understand how anyone could rate the food here as 5 stars. The filet mignon was good however the ribeye was horrible at best. I asked for medium but the steak was definitely on the well done side. Temperature was lukewarm and the meat was of low quality. I purposely had a light lunch expecting to have a great steak dinner only to be completely disappointed with the quality of the ribeye. Please see the attached photos and judge for yourself.
Service: The next table was seated after us but they received their steaks first. This would explain why my ribeye was lukewarm and overdone. It probably sat on a counter waiting to be brought out. Our waiter was nice and courteous and seemed genuinely concerned about my disappointment with the ribeye. He wanted to make things right and suggested to take it back…if anyone knows anything about restaurants you never ever EVER send food back to the kitchen. I refused his suggestion because I do not complain about food but this place is a total bait and switch. They act like a premium steak house which it is not. I’ve had better steaks at Outback. I tried to stay composed and keep things to ourselves as I didn’t want to make a scene. They decided to “credit” the steak against my will. I ordered it and ate it unwillingly so I wanted to pay for it as I am not one to freeload. I didn’t agree with them crediting the steak but they did anyway. I left a tip large enough to cover the difference for the waiter since this was not his fault. We received a complementary dessert maybe because we had a reservation as being an anniversary. Kudos for that. Guess what…we didn’t touch it. You don’t send food back or complain and then eat anything after that.
Atmosphere: The benches were very comfortable and the...
Read moreThis was a thoroughly disappointing experience. When the best thing about the whole place was a Manhattan (which was just ok), it doesn’t say much about a steak house.
We started with the baked brie, but it wasn’t melted or even softened in the slightest and its pastry was just greasy. The butter concoction that came with it was just overly processed.
The steak was about a 1 out of 5 (top sirloin) and we’ve eaten at fantastic steak houses. I guess the overly salty butter sauce was to mask the inadequacies of the food, but it just left one queasy.
And who pairs cherry tomatoes with green beans and mash? Maybe use a food bible?
In response to your comment on my review, first of all, my name isn’t Karen.
Second of all, the comment about the butter sauce was not in relation to the Brie. That’s your assumption.
The butter sauce was all over the plate of your “cauliflower steak”. And the sides weren’t a choosable option for that dish. The sides were mash potato and green beans with halved cherry tomatoes on the top. I have photographs of the dish, so please know what your restaurant serves. And the cauliflower steak plate was swimming in butter sauce to the point that it was largely inedible. To complete the review, the cauliflower was overcooked to the point of being limp.
The review wasn’t “vile”, it was...
Read moreOh my gosh. So my family went to dinner this weekend just to celebrate my nephew achievements. But let me tell you, it was our waiter Jeffery made us feel like we were all special. Let's talk about the food. We ordered the lobster bisque. Oh my gosh, compliments to the chef. That had to be the BEST lobster bisque I have ever had soooo delicious. The way our table was crazed about other patrons heard and ordered it as well. Ok, yes, the calamari was also a favorite. Unlike other restaurants on the island thrown into a flour batter and deep fried. These were just right nit oily, but it would seem like they were air fried to perfection. Oh, I skipped the drinks, which my daughter recommended the watermelon martini. Just try it. My main course was the pork chops, which came with apple sauce, but I didn't feel for the sauce. I substitute it for the steak diane sauce and paired it with the broccoli and fettuccine alfredo when I said no one was talking around the table. That is to say, the food had us a way. We ordered the cobbler, the cheese cake for dessert, which was all delicious, but the cobbler made me feel like I went to Haven. Try this place you will not be...
