Brilliant place to go for a drink . Meals looked and smelt nice but we didn't eat on this occasion( we did visit 3 times the same day as we liked it so much we came back pre match -post match and late evening ). Great atmosphere one of those all welcome and you actually feel like you fit in. Lots of weird and wonderful things hidden about the place to see starting with quotes on walls to limmericks in the toilets . Lots of different beers wines and spirits to choose from . Staff look like they actually like their job which let's face it doesn't happen often . The only down side were the toilets which could do with a bit of cleaning attention .but on saying that they had toilet paper hand towels soap and a working hand dryer . These did get closed at one point and we had unto use down in the cellar toilets awkward stair once you have had a few bit that adds to the kooky style place this is . Plenty of seating out back in the garden using several levels . Overall a great place and a must visit for anyone passing by

I was looking for a place to enjoy some wine in Bournemouth and Chaplin's came up. When I arrived there are two doors one entrance leads you downstairs where they do not serve food, the door on the left was more directly for the restaurant. Inside you can dine inside or you can go to the back garden. The place has several sitting areas, stairs they lead to several roof top tables, down stairs near a little pond. There are nick nacks all over this place so something to see at every corner. I only had truffle fries they were good to snack on. Expect to be around a lot of smoke as the entire place outside had tons of regulars chain smoking. I'm sad I didn't go downstairs to check out the wine bar but I didn't want to stay in the neighborhood after dark. I left after two decent glasses of wine. You have to go inside at the bar to order, no servers, so climbing the stairs with wine was a little non relaxing. Cute to see if you're in the area.

This place is a true hidden gem. We'd been past on the bus a thousand times but never been in, today we took the plunge and were so glad we did. If you like chain bars, this isn't the place for you, as it is individual, quirky and welcoming, with friendly and efficient service, great decor packed with Charlie Chaplin themed art and spectacular food. We visited on a Sunday and had the most beautiful roast dinner, freshly cooked, hot and delicious. For a couple of quid more we added a pudding each, which were generous and plate-lickingly good. However, the best part of our visit was the service and welcome from the staff, who couldn't do enough to ensure we enjoyed our stay as much as they clearly enjoyed their work. Don't be fooled, Boscombe doesn't have the best reputation, and from the outside you might pass Chaplins by, but step over the threshold as we did and you'll not be disappointed.

Some friends and I went for the first time on Monday night and within a very short time, I said to my friends that Chaplin's & The Cellar Bar was the best pub I have been to since I moved to Bournemouth and one of the best I have ever been to. The décor is awesome, the staff great, the atmosphere friendly and the drinks reasonably priced. However, my experience was marred slightly by the fact that in the gent's toilets downstairs, I saw the attached postcards. Aside from wondering whether they would display postcards that were racist in nature rather than sexist (I suspect they wouldn't) I couldn't help but think to myself "Really? In 2018?" I know this kind of humour may have been funny to some people in the past (and that some may still think it is funny) but I really don't think this kind of humour has any place in today's society. Should it matter, I'm a fella.

Chaplins is one of those rare, one-of-a-kind places. The live music creates an incredible atmosphere, with a big crowd cheering and encouraging everyone to sing along—it’s such a fun, lively vibe! What I really love is the theme of the place, blending a vintage feel with trendy, modern touches that make it stand out. The service is equally impressive. The staff were super friendly and helpful, making sure we got exactly what we wanted, and quickly too! Overall, it’s a fantastic spot for a memorable night out. Definitely worth checking out!
