There is no waiting list to get in; simply remember who was before you so that you don't look like a jerk. This place has the best service I've seen in this country so far for the price. I don't remember our waiter's name, but he was so kind when I asked for more pebre (free before your meal and slightly spicy! It was gone in 2 minutes). He told me that he would but that he was very busy so it might be a bit. The pebre came in under 1 minute. I swear, it shocked me into silence. I haven't been helped that politely and honestly since the South of the USA. We finished that pebre and what came after was even more shocking: the steak with mushroom sauce was rich and thick. I sat quietly, still considering our luck for having found this place, chewing all the while. It's not an item to chew fast. Savor it. You don't find many like that here. Try the coca ale! And tip the waiters to let them know they're the best.

Visited on a Monday early afternoon for lunch and the home-cooked traditional no-frills cooking did not disappoint. There is outside seating and indoor seating but show up early as queues form quickly at peak times. COVID restrictions have limited the indoor seating to six tables. While there are two fish choices and salads, meat dishes dominate the menu. For lunch, La Picada del Indio offer a two-course fixed menu for 6,000 pesos which is a great deal. Upon seating, you are served a complimentary portion of pan amasado with a side of pebre. The food was fresh and authentic with the portion sizes generous. If you are after a tasty meat dish give the carne mechada (shredded beef) with roasted potatoes a try. If you are after a home-cooked authentic no-frills meal at a great price La Picada del Indio is the spot for you.

Very busy place, because it is well located and the well afforddable price for a 3 course menu. However, the food was below average. The fish of the ceviche was far from fresh. The tuna of the main course was dry and overcooked. Plates were decorated very basic and portions are small (starter and dessert). It was obvious that the food was prepared in advance, which we understand because it is crowded while the courses are served very fast. There are better restaurants in San Pedro. Would pay a bit more and eat at other restaurants for way better quality food.

It's a good deal for a 3 course meal costs 5500ps. The melon juice is great. Highly recommend it. All juice seems pretty good. The bread was so dry. Couldn't touch it after a bite. The meat quality was so-so .. we had pork and chicken and left half of the pork. Desert was also average. What I liked the most was salad. They serve generous amount of fresh vegetables. Pesto potatoes were good, too. Once is good and would love to go back for the melon juice but perhaps not for the meal.

Best value for money in San Pedro! I ordered the daily menu and it was the best choice. For 6500 I received a soup with beef (sooo delicious), a fish with salad (very fresh and well seasoned) and a desert (super creamy). The freshly pressed Kiwi juice was just natural and not sweetened (as I asked for it). A must do in San Pedro, although you have to queue a bit. But the service is so fast, it goes by quickly and it is really worth it.

We actually ate here twice during our stay in San Pedro. Big portion sizes, and very reasonable prices. Staff are friendly. Service it not always the fastest because this place is often packed and busy, so it’s understandable. The pesto chicken pasta was amazing, lots of sauce and chicken! The burger my boyfriend ordered was huge as well. There is often live music when seated outside too. Would recommend!
