La Picada Del Indio is a pretty good spot for Chilean dishes. We ordered the Lomo A Lo Pobre (16.000) and the Tabla Indio (16.000) for lunch. A little bit pricey, but as tourists it seems like the sizes were worth it. The dishes came in HUGE portions and a mountain of fries. We shared these two plates between 3 people and still had food left over! It might be better if you order something lighter for lunch like one of their salads or sandwiches and leave these heavier dishes for dinner. As for the dishes, the eggs were well cooked and everything was well-seasoned; however, the beef was a bit on the tougher side for both dishes. Some of the servers can speak English, which is great for tourists like us. If you have not been to Chile yet, a 10% tip is automatically added on to your bill, so please keep this in mind. The food came out pretty quick and customers were constantly coming in and out. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and felt satisfied!

There is no waiting list to get in; simply remember who was before you so that you don't look like a jerk. This place has the best service I've seen in this country so far for the price. I don't remember our waiter's name, but he was so kind when I asked for more pebre (free before your meal and slightly spicy! It was gone in 2 minutes). He told me that he would but that he was very busy so it might be a bit. The pebre came in under 1 minute. I swear, it shocked me into silence. I haven't been helped that politely and honestly since the South of the USA. We finished that pebre and what came after was even more shocking: the steak with mushroom sauce was rich and thick. I sat quietly, still considering our luck for having found this place, chewing all the while. It's not an item to chew fast. Savor it. You don't find many like that here. Try the coca ale! And tip the waiters to let them know they're the best.

Visited on a Monday early afternoon for lunch and the home-cooked traditional no-frills cooking did not disappoint. There is outside seating and indoor seating but show up early as queues form quickly at peak times. COVID restrictions have limited the indoor seating to six tables. While there are two fish choices and salads, meat dishes dominate the menu. For lunch, La Picada del Indio offer a two-course fixed menu for 6,000 pesos which is a great deal. Upon seating, you are served a complimentary portion of pan amasado with a side of pebre. The food was fresh and authentic with the portion sizes generous. If you are after a tasty meat dish give the carne mechada (shredded beef) with roasted potatoes a try. If you are after a home-cooked authentic no-frills meal at a great price La Picada del Indio is the spot for you.

Went there because of the great ratings and there was a lot of it. Quite disappointed as there was nothunf special at all. I felt it was a bit if a canteen style and vibe. The food was served quickly, which is good. I took the menu t 7000 with the chicken tortilla, the chicken filet with salads and the dessert (kind of a flan). Nothing interesting there. The chicken tortilla was quite dry. I asked for the sides of the chicken filet to mix 2 out of the options: fries/rice/salads. Cold no. The portion of the chicken was small and the white sauce with it wqs bland.. The dessert (flan) was a bite size and not good.

Something funny but surprising (or could be unpleasant for some): so many dogs are walking around the restaurant?! Not sure if there are the owners or steet but i found it a bit shocking that none of the waiters push them away to not disturb the customers' meal.

Overall not bad but not good. Just in the middle. I don't understand why such a high rating for such an avefage place.

Ps: debit cards don't work....
