Siji Minfu — Restaurant in Beijing

I went there with a friend who can speak Chinese and everything was easier to communicate with staff. This restaurant was famous for locals and now even with tourists after being awarded with Michelin stars. There are many branches but we went to Qianmen. Booking in advance is recommended.

It offers the best Beijing Duck I ever had in my life. Very tender, juicy, and crispy skin. We ordered the fried meatballs and the cold dish salad. Everything was just awesome and so delicious.

This place is quite overrated. We waited for almost an hour for a two person table since we thought the reviews were good and it would be worth sticking around. Much to our confusion, many people walked in before us even though that had arrived later than us. Once we got in we were disappointed with the food, as the portion sizes are really small for the price and the food is so salty that the kung pao chicken we ordered was inedible. Superb Peking duck that's melts in the mouth. Songsuyunis another must try dish. Prices are on the high side. Generally good experience with the restaurant. Expect to have at least 1-2hrs of waiting time.
