Hidden gem at Shau Kei Wan! Went with a group of friends and we managed to order most of their signature dishes. My personal favourite: crab paste minced meat / 蟹膏蒸肉餅comes with a generous amount of crab paste and gives you a ton of umami. The restaurant manager recommended us to pair the dish with clay pot rice - indeed the best combo with the fragrant, slightly burnt rice! Must try! Other orders like 砂锅猪肝炒蚬, 酸菜鱼 were superb too. Overall 4.5/5 for food. Restaurant manager was attentive. Took time to explain behind story of the restaurant and dishes to us when we asked. You can’t really find a second “sea to table” restaurant like this one here at Kam Tung Tai. Will def come back.

Invited by friends a several times to dine in here again. Came back again after months. They enlarged their restaurant bigger in sizes. Appetizer was introduced by the owner from their new menu to be, stewed fish meow oyster glazed with honey sauce. ( 炆花膠伴金𧐢）tasted special and not bad. Thanks to the owner’s treat. 多謝老闆的免費試菜！ 咸魚煲/ 加煲仔白飯。好特別的配搭。 Delicious salted fish clay pot, to go with white rice and fish oil. Yummy ! Big bowl noodles with sea food. 大碗海鮮麵。 Plenty of seafood with fresh ingredients. But no chance to take pictures 😅all finished within a glance 😅 Fresh rocky fish soup cooked with white radish, fresh and yummy. But mind these fish bones within.

I visit this hood occasionally but have never heard of this hidden gem until my friend brought me here one day. The menu offered a wide range of classic Chinese dishes, showcasing the culinary expertise of the chefs. The food itself was exceptional, with each dish thoughtfully prepared and presented. The flavors were rich, balanced, and true to traditional Chinese cuisine. While the original price might have seemed steep, my friend got a discount that made the experience more accessible and allowed me to fully appreciate the quality and attention to detail that went into every aspect of the meal.

Bumped into this restaurant at lunch hour in a holiday. Its front door is operated as a local cafe offering fastfood-style dishes but it was pretty full. We, therefore, were asked to sit at a back stage section, which was more spacious with a few big empty tables. As expected, it offers different (more expensive) dishes than the front door section. We ordered 3 ordinary dishes (see the pictures). Taste-wise, they were ok, not bad. I like the 小炒王most. The environment was quite cosy, and the staff was quite helpful. Expensive though. HKD600 for those 3 ordinary dishes.

Must say this place is quite unique. No other place like this in HK. You get to try the cuisine from the indigenous boat people. This Family owned business that has elevated a unique Cantonese cuisine and fused with it a modern take. Lovely food and a must visit for a differentiated experience. Love the chicken and especially the crab egg rice cake dish which gets all the flavor. Also definitely ask for their off menu options. They have fresh off menu dishes like uni that the chef can make
