This place does exactly two things right: braised goose and chilled crab. That’s it. Anyone reviewing the stir-fried veggies or whatever is basically the culinary equivalent of ordering an omelet at a steakhouse—then acting surprised when it disappoints. Yes, I know it says it's a chiu chou restaurant, but you should realize it's a goose restaurant first and foremost.

The braised goose? Absolute masterclass. Every cut is tender and juicy, even the breast meat (which usually suffers). The goose webs soak up that soy marinade like they were born for it, and the liver walks the fine line—firm enough to hold its shape, but melts on the tongue. Don’t skip those parts; they’re the best bites.

Yes, it’s pricey. But restaurant prices have been rising across the board in Hong Kong these days. And for what you’re getting, it’s...

If we didn't have a Chinese host we would have never gone here. So I'm pleased to say we went, and the food was very tasty. A lovely variety of dishes which were not heavy as we didn't order rice. The restaurant was vibrant and bustling.

Verdict on some of the dishes:

Pork: came in a rich gooey saucy, which I liked. Good flavour Vegetable parcels: A bit like a dim sum but bigger and very light Goose: As I'm used to meat off the bone it's difficult to eat around a slice of meat which contains bone, tendons etc... Otherwise OK, but not too much flavour. It also came with bean curd. Vegetable terrine: Good taste with a crunchy fried exterior Omelette: in my limited experience of Chinese food, the omelettes are delicious and this one was...

Food looks great but it is mediocre-tasting food for a Michelin-awarded restaurant. Nothing too fancy. The most upsetting thing was the dishonesty and lack of transparency. They ended up charging us for a bunch of things we thought were free because we were not told otherwise. We were charged for the appetizers. They also charged us $60 HKD for the tasteless tea. On top of that, the service fee was 10% of our total bill while in most cases for restaurants that are not high class, they don't charge you tips or service fees. Had they told us they would charge us for these things, my rating might be higher. Instead they dishonestly snuck hidden fees in our bill. We will not be...

Remembered the foods is not too good and that's why we stop going for quite a few years. However we always see the place is busy so decided give it a try again for lunch and see if it get any better. Guess what, big disappointment again even for simple basic dishes such as Singaporean Fried noodle and steamed Carp Fish with preserves vegetable. You can hardly taste the curry in the noodle and poorly stir fried. The fish is all dry and over steamed. Steam rice absolutely tasteless and cold. Just glad it wasn't dinner that we went to try it out!
