Enjoyed our 3 nights stay with 181 in our recent trip to Hong Kong. We were warmly welcomed by the concierge staff the moment we arrived at the hotel. They helped us with our luggage and led us to the check-in floor. Check-in was prompt and hassle free and the view from the sea facing rooms is amazing.Room is spacious and there's a small dining table in the room that makes dining in really convenient. Toilets were equipped with all the basic necessities as well. Self-service laundry is available at level 5 and there's also a vending machine located there if you need more snacks! Hotel is conveniently located with lots of food options nearby and also within walking distance to bus stops, tram stations and the HKU MTR station. We have also tried the breakfast and lunch menu at the 181 Tea House. Food is good and the service crew constantly checks in to see if there's anything else that we needed. For travellers that are heading to HK in this period and is looking for PCR community testing centres to do the Day 2 testing, there is one that is located pretty near the hotel; approximately 10-15mins walk. All in all, the stay with 181 is amazing and the service really stood out for us! Shoutout to the concierge team for checking-in with us every time we were heading out/ returning back to the hotel, showing us the way to the nearest bus stop and recommending food options nearby. We would definitely love to stay with 181 again the next time we...
Read moreI just finished 21 day quarantine in the Harbour Suite with my parents (total 3 people). The staff at One-Eight-One made the stay so lovely and wonderful that the 21 day flew by!
We booked our room with Toby on the hotel sales team. Toby was super responsive and helped us reserve quite a few items for our room prior to our arrival. It was great that we only needed to reserve one person’s worth of meals for the 21 days so that provided more flexibility with our food options.
The suite was large, clean and spacious. They also provided a work desk for us which was great as I was working remotely. There’s enough room to workout on a yoga mat in the bedroom as well.
For the quarantine meals, we were provided three options each for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The portions were quite large and the food was actually really tasty!
We were allowed deliveries during our quarantine stay and they were promptly brought up to our room, within 5 min after delivered.
Overall, we had a really lovely quarantine experience, even with the 21 days! 181 is on the higher end of quarantine hotels but I would highly recommend it for anyone if it’s within their budget. Benson & the staff at One-Eight-One made our stay so wonderful and truly felt home...
Read moreWouldn’t recommend it. I don’t know how they got such good reviews. This place really bothered me. Very communist attitude.
My wife accidentally booked twice in the same night. Despite them still having extra rooms and not being fully booked (so it wasn’t like we took a room that would’ve gone to someone else), they wouldn’t give a refund and were really rude about it and focused on it being our mistake. (Yes, it was, but everyone we told this about was shocked they didn’t refund us.) They wouldn’t even ship us something we forgot despite our paying for a room we didn’t use.
Sounds like a communist country? Yes indeed. It’s not like old elegant Hong Kong.
The downstairs entrance to the hotel was surrounded by bags of trash, smells like trash and all the streets nearby were covered in trash when we were there. The view had an ugly view of the highways which they don’t show in the photos. It was not close to anything you’d want to see. The shuttle driver spoke no English (not his fault. It’s mine for not speaking Chinese but don’t you want someone who can speak several languages if dealing with travelers?)
If you are used to kindness, good American or European service, cleanliness at a hotel entrance, I would...
