Pros: Great place to stay--spacious; clean; several large windows that won't leave u feel claustrophobic; super well-equipped with every amenity that u can think of, such as toaster, microwave, cooking hot plate, pot, iron; and very friendly staff.
Only several minutes away from Kennedy Town MTR station n since it s an end of the line station, you ll always find a seat. Nice little kiddy park right at one of the exits as well a big Wellcome (supermarket). Steps away is also the indoor "wet market" n a public library. There s a new mall that just opened with nice eateries (HK style cafés, sushi bar, pet shop n dollar shop, etc).
There r many nice eateries, both Western n Chinese near Mia Casa. Just Google it. I also love the area because it is not as busy n crowded as other areas such as Wanchai n I find the streets wider n people in the area are nicer, compared to other busier districts.
Also close to terminal tram station...it takes about half n hour to get to Central by tram or an hour to Happy Valley, near Causeway Bay.
A well known dim sum place is steps away from Mia Casa which is open from 3 am to 4pm, yes 3 am!
Cons:. Air conditioning or fan's lowest setting does not work. Ended up asking a staffer to unlock the window. More expensive during weekends.
P.S. Mia Casa cannot be booked via travel site portals since they will be under renovation soon management has not decided whether they would continue to rent out to short-term vacationers or not. I truly wish they would.
P.P.S. If ur travel accommodation search portal website shows no availability, contact Mia Casa directly to reserve.

Read moreI am traveling to Hong Kong to visit my family. When I arrived at Hong Kong, it was really late at night. I didn't want to wake up my family late at night so I decided to stay in a hotel for one night.
Hong Kong has a system for inbound traveler. The goal is to make sure inbound travelers are clear of COVID before they can visit crowd places such as restaurants. When a traveler arrives at Hong Kong, they are assigned an "amber" health code which indicates they are not clear for all COVID testings yet. After 3 days, if the traveler continues to be tested negative of COVID, the health code will be changed to blue.
I made a reservation to stay at Mia Casa Hotel for one night. Shortly after I completed the reservation, the hotel sent me a message telling me that they only accept people with blue health code. When I was looking at the hotel information at Expedia, this is not mentioned at all. Since all inbound travelers will have amber code, the hotel won't let me stay with them. However, I didn't know beforehand when booking on Expedia.
At the same time, the reservation is not refundable. I feel like I have fallen into a trap. They won't let me stay and they won't refund me.
After contacting Expedia a few times and waiting for over 2 weeks, the issue was resolved. But I would look somewhere else to avoid...
Read moreThe place was well priced, location was good, and the place was clean. That is about where the positives stop.||The room and bed was tiny, however we expected this so not a big issue. What we did expect was the massive lack of attention from the staff (barely lifting their heads, sometimes, at reception as we came and went). The "Cleaning staff" pulled the bed cover (no sheets, just blanket) back up to make it seem like the bed was made. We had to request new towels and bathroom supplies as they would be taken away and not replaced despite the fact we still had several days left on our visit.||||We had an issue with the aircon being turned off at night, they cam up and "checked" it but couldnt find anything wrong and told us to let them "know when it happens again" however, there is no-one at the desk when I woke up several times sweating in the middle of the night.||||Cheap for a good reason. My advice would be pay a little more and you will have a much better experience on...
