Every Belgian would burst into tears trying their waffles!
The chocolate cream: Belgium has soooooo many delicious chocolate manufacturers. GODIVA, Neuhaus, BELVAS and many more. FRITES however is using one of these lousy instant sauces with 0.00000% chocolate content. Instead of chocolate cream you get coloured syrup with more chemicals inside than a chemistry set!
The waffle: You might think this is a home run for FRITES? Fluffy inside a bit of crunchiness outside? Nope. In reality they serve waffles which have the texture of a flip-flop. I seriously doubt that their waffle dough is home made... if so they screwed-up the recipe big time.
The ice cream: If you dream of a home made Belgium ice cream or even a decent Belgium supermarket brand like Glacio... continue dreaming. At FRITES you'll get some water based frozen stuff which doesn't deserve to be called "ice cream". In fact I'm almost certain that this stuff has 0.00% cream content and is just a cheap cheap replacement of an actual ice cream.
The whipping cream on top: You believe whipping cream is made out of cream and vanilla sugar? That's right! Sadly not at FRITES though... what you get is some kind of instant foam straight out of an aerosol can. I don't even want to see the ingredients list of this stuff.

We have traveled the world and found the freshness and Preparation of their Mussels 2nd to None! The staff was friendly and the service was prompt. The location is nice right on the promenade. The appetizer salad we had was generous on flavors and nice that they did not skimp on quality ingredients. The Desert (toffee) was decadent and served slight warm which was nice. If you do have the chance to have that make sure to include the mint leaf in your tasting as it is not just a garnish but a key ingredient. Again though the highlight was those flown in fresh from Australia Mussels and we look forward to a future Monday night all you can eat...

Overall, it did not felt like the restaurant was very welcoming and would not recommend coming again. The food was alright but vibe and how they handle the customers wasn’t very good. We also ordered the cookies and. Cream milkshake and it was warm, it was not...
