As well as SK, there is a bigger branch of JoJo's in Wan Chai, but the Wan Chai one is probably better. Went here because there were not many good Western food choices in SK. It was filled with expats and then more expats came for late night curries. I ordered the rice with peas and mushrooms and a Malai, which the waiter said was a popular local dish because it was sweet hence not my cup of tea. I still ordered it because I like potato croquettes, which were rather sticky and chewy, apart from that I didn't like the cashew nut sauce because it was sweet. Read moreIt is like an illusion or a mind trick. It looks like Indian food and the colours and even many of the spices you can see are correct… but somehow it is tasteless. It has no depth of flavor (even the leftovers today at lunch after being in the fridge all night). It is quite bizarre and the naan… well it wasn’t really. The one great thing was the veggie samosas, but again unbelievably, no dips were given!
Very disappointing and a real shame as good food options in Sai Kung are scarce. Was hoping this would be worth the HEFTY price but sadly not.
Hope they can improve the cooking and help the chef figure out how...
