McDonald's (Mui Wo) — Restaurant in Islands District

There is a conveniently located McDonald's just outside the bus terminus and ferry pier at Mui Wo that is open 6am to 11.30pm daily. This is a somewhat smaller McD with a fair amount of seating, which isn't much given the seating limitations imposed during the pandemic. It is a good option for those arriving very early in Mui Wo for hikes or those looking for a quick, cheap bite to eat while waiting for the next outbound ferry back to Central.

We ate breakfast here recently and found the sausage biscuit and hash browns to be just fine and the plain coffee just as awful as McD coffee everywhere. Staff are friendly and operate at the slower beach community pace that you expect here in Mui Wo, not like what you find in the city based establishments.

If you want to try something different, there is a local Village Bakery a couple minutes walk back around the corner west and south of the McDonalds at 16 Mui Wo Ferry Pier Road. That is a better overall option and supports a...

This place is getting nasty and nastier….. Don’t go there at night ….. they are in hurry to close….being here 22:30 , smell of bleach everywhere , they don’t take credit card because they already closed the machine , cannot use the self service machine, they a look at you like you are bothering them . Complete disaster ….and I eat I McDonald in 8/9 countries . The worse ever. People looking at the phone while working . I wonder if some inspector of McD come to check sometimes or if they just let them be like that. Because of they don’t care maybe is better to buy a sandwich in the nearest 7/11 instead of spending 100$ with these people and avoid the smell of bleach while I’m eating . And I. Forgot that I almost fall down for the wet floor …. This is not the MCD that o know …..somebody do...

This place is very good like any macD for grabbing a food, so I am not gonna review like fine dining restaurant about hygiene/operational issue etc but at place like macD when time says 11:30 pm closing they start telling you close around 11:15 pm it’s not first time though.
