Read moreAfter a long flight from NZ with our 4 year old, the taxi dropped us off and we walked the 10-15 minutes along the car-free walkway to the ‘Resort’ with our three large bags and carry ons (in the heat) and unfortunately something my hubby discovered we had to do after reading further reviews online. But at least we were mentally prepared I guess. ||Arriving at our destination, we were very underwhelmed and felt like we were going on holiday with the cast from Hotel Transylvania 3 (aeroplane scene - for those that know).||Drab and unwelcoming to say the least as we walked past the scrap yard and into the condensation/damp reception with towel laid on the floor as welcoming mat. Yes the air conditioning was welcomed but from the outside and then the smell, stained couches in reception and grumpy dog (we were told not to pat), ‘first impressions’ were very low and topped off with another horrible moment of having to walk up three flights of stairs, with bags (although hubby did ask the reception fella to take one and he was very obliging). ||Room was small and tired with sign of home handyman repairs on damaged wall but bathroom had been updated and linen appeared to be clean and bed very comfortable.||Daughter had to sleep on pullout couch which was hard and although we had to book the extra night before as they don’t do early check in, her bed wasn’t made up and he quickly made it for us but positives of staying in car-free zone, room was very quiet!!||Breakfast was set meal which changed daily and small boxes of cereal available for $10 which suited our daughter better. Asking about dinner, we were told by reception yes they do it but no options available and suggested to try somewhere else. Not so good sales and no maps of area. ||Checking out - hubby arranged for receptionist to bike bags to taxi area, after reading another reviewers comments and they did do. Not sure if reluctantly due to language barrier. ||Overall - this wouldn’t be a place I will stay at again (hubby booked it and I guess you get what you pay for...) and while location is handy, I would suggest searching other resorts in the area as you’ll find one just beside the taxi area which have tasty meals, cold beverages and Gloria the waitress was...
Read moreWe decided to stay out of HK on this visit so choose this place ,came straight from the airport , had a bit of a walk from the spot where the taxi dropped us off so beware if you have lots of luggage or problems with mobility,|The hotel looks a little shabby but the entrance is clean and we found the people on the desk friendly, we had a room on the first floor and could see the sea, |1, tiny room , by far the smallest we’ve seen in HK , and we’ve stayed in 10 different places at least, |2, air con good not too noisy,|3 , bathroom clean , shower works well, hot water, shaver point, clean towels, |4, good size bed very comfortable, clean sheets , 2 pillows, only one side had a table, no plugs though so had to charge phone by television , was a pain at night, as my husband had to get up for work and uses his phone as an alarm, |5 , tiny account of space to unpack suitcase, we were here for 9 days and my clothes were creased and I had nowhere to put them. See photo, |6 , only coffee provided in room, no tea, mugs weren’t replaced ,|7, fridge froze the water , also insulin, my husband is diabetic, no way of turning it down|8, light outside window kept us awake at night,|9, walls quite thin so could hear people talking , babies crying, and dogs barking, |10, drilling woke us up before 7 several mornings on the trot, |If we had been able to hang our clothes up and unpack out suitcase the lack of room would have been fine, but to have to keep dragging the suitcase out and have creased clothing wasn’t my idea of a relaxing break,|Breakfast was not good unfortunately, |I was unaware of larger rooms when we booked and paid for this room and had we been we may have enjoyed our stay , would try somewhere...
