Add Some Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Kowloon

Saw this place on a local app saying it was pretty good and a lot of positive reviews so we thought we would give it a try. Was expecting more people to be there at 730, but the place was only half full. I guess I could credit it that it was a Tuesday night in an industrial area so not so crowded.

We ordered the seafood tom yum soup, chicken skewers, yellow curry with beef and stir fried cabbage. The soup was just full of MSG, no lemon grass flavor, no coconut flavor...It was just sour and spicy, tasted like it was made from instant powder. The chicken skewers was alright. There wasnt anything too special. The curry was the biggest disappointment. I was expecting curry, but instead it tasted like Portuguese curry. The only thing that tastes good was the veggies.

I had lunch here today and had heard allot of rave reviews on how good the Thai food is here.

Trying a new Thai restaurant, I always try either their Tom Yum Kung or Pad Thai as a reference point. In this case I ordered their Clam Pad Thai.

To cut a long story short, it arrived luke warm and the taste was bland. There is nothing I hate more than being served food which is Luke warm and to top this off, rather tasteless.

Sorry, but all the outstanding reports I heard were fake. To top things off, there were only 2 servers and service was slow. Sorry you do not meet the grade in my books, mediocre food and poor service. Pricing is not cheap either.

Not sure how others claim the place to be authentic Thai cuisine, clearly it is not. The flavour of the dishes are very localized, although it does not taste bad, it is very average. If you are looking for authentic Thai cuisine, look elsewhere, but if you are around the area and looking for average food to fill the tummy, sure. Ordered pad Thai with pork neck meat, the pad Thai had celery in it (what??), while the meat was lacking in flavour. Thai Red curry was too thick and lacking flavour. The bbq char siew that came with the curry was rather dry. Mango sticky rice was mediocre, the mango was sour and the coconut ice...
