Kwuntong was once an industrial town but now it is a busy place for everything. The restaurant scene is thriving and you will find game rooms and lots of places for shopping.
Camel Paint building is just one of those buildings were you will find restaurants and shops on every floor of this industrial building.
As I was checking some outlets nearby I ended here for dinner.
I was attracted by the retro windows by the kitchen and the racks of test tube condiments on the table.
This restaurant specializes in Taiwanese fare.
For starters, began with the spicy ducks blood and sliced pork with cucumbers.
The ducks blood didn't look spicy but boy they were spicy.
Judging by the spiciness levels of the dish, I was expecting the spicy beef noodles to be of that level.
When I got the spicy beef noodles, the broth was so spicy just like the Sichuan hotpot broths so if you can't have it that spicy then I suggest not to order it.
We also had this other bowl of beef noodles which was more palatable as they broth is made with Asian pears and other fruits which is popular with kids.
The star of the show turned out to be the Taiwanese onion chicken.
There was so much onions and crispy shallots in it which was so tasty with rice that I had two bowls of rice.
The chicken beneath it was tender as well.

Finished with the passionfruit tea which was sweet...
Read moreThere are increasing number of cafes and restaurants in Kwun Tong industrial area, especially in Camel Paint Buildings. Trying them out is like testing my luck for the day, you will never know whether they are as good as mentioned in social media posts.
This time, my friend and I visited 五月星牛肉麵 for their signature “Test Tube Fried Chicken”. They were interesting, but weren’t quite what I was expecting.
So we ordered this Test Tube Fried Chicken and Minced Pork rice so that we could get to try two things in one bowl. So the test tube chicken is just ordinary fried chicken in Taiwanese style, with different kinds of seasoning powder stored in test tubes like these, which you could use to top up the flavour of the chicken. I was thinking about chicken served in test tubes… Hahaha! Among all the seasoning, seaweed was the best, followed by cheese and chili. Minced pork was ordinary.
We also ordered this Taiwanese bun that the waitress recommended. It was just fair, as least not as good as the one I had in Noodle Joy (Causeway Bay). The bun could be more fluffy, and personally speaking, there were too many cucumber and pickles. Pork belly was rightfully fat though.
A snack we ordered was this Preserved Duck Egg in Numbing Spicy Dressing. I like the dressing dearly. Not a bad choice.
On the whole, quality of food was just okay, but you can’t ask for much when you don’t have to pay a...
Read moreWu Yue Xing famous with their beef noodle, but they taste just average and nothing special, it's overrated. The restaurant located inside Camel Paint Building Block 3, it's not easy to find, especially there are always long queue for the lift. Came here for early dinner, and we are the only customer here, no queue or waiting is required. Food here just mediocre, you can't say their beef noodle is good, but it's not that bad as a quick dinner. And this restaurant accept cash only, no credit card or any other payment...
