I didn't think tasty health food existed until I tried food from MUM Veggie Cafe. The restaurant is located inside the food hall of Eaton Hotel. There are plenty of seats around the food hall. So all you have to do would be order and pay at the Cafe, and then bring your food to a seat you like.
The shop only use organic and natural products for their dishes, so the price would be a bit higher compared to other restaurants. Their 3-side dishes menu was HKD$100 with drinks included. I think that's not so expensive considering the quality and the amount of items included in their menu. I would say healthy is priceless.
I ordered a 3-side dishes menu with turmeric ginger rice. The 3 side dishes I ordered were: deep fried pumpkin croquette, steamed soft egg bowl with mushrooms, and lotus root cooked with kombo sauce.
For the Deep Fried Pumpkin Croquette, it was so delicious that the outside was so crunchy while the inside was rich in pumpkin flavour. The Croquette didn't taste greasy at all. In fact, it tasted very light and fresh.
For the Steamed Soft Egg Bowl with Mushrooms, the egg was really soft and smooth. It warmed my heart.
For the Lotus Root Cooked with Kombo Sauce, the amount of the dish was actually quite a lot for a side dish. And it tasted rather plain than the other two side dishes I ordered, but I still found it quite delicious.
I highly recommend this restaurant to vegetarian or people who simply want healthy,...
Read moreSituated around 5-10 mins walk away from Jordan station, it is in thr basement of Eaton Hotel. A vegetarian Japanese restaurant with clearly marked vegan and dishes with 5 pungent spices. Lovely dishes, plenty of choices, it is a food court so first thing you wanna do is secure a seat before ordering. Free seating.
Dishes are ok, could do better flavouring, and better quality tempura batter. I do like their choices of turmeric rice or 5 grain rice, and also swap to Udon as well. Some will incur a small fee. With $10 you can get soymilknot almond milk as a small drink in addition to your set dish.
Food is pretty quick, so almost everything is pre-made. Hence tempura isnt crunchy. I would recommend getting the tofu wrap dish, spinach, pumpkin croquettes amongst other dishes.
3 dishes for $100, 4 dishes for $115, all comes with rice...
Read moreThis vegetarian food stall only provides set meal with 3 or 4 items at $100 or $125, including miso soup, mixed grain rice and mugicha. Rice can be changed to udon by adding $15 and mugicha can be changed to sugar free soya milk by adding $8. There are 16 items for selection in the menu indicating if contain egg and/or spring onion and garlic. I like the konjac in tahini sauce as the special texture of the konjac and the tasty tahini sauce. Purple potato beetroot green apple salad was tasty too. It's mixed with purple potato mud and plenty of shreds of beetroot, it was fresh and healthy. The miso soup was not salty, it contained not only tofu and kelp, but also white radish which is not common used in miso soup. The food stall locates in the Food Hall of Eaton Hong Kong, the seating area is shared with other...
