WoZi Cafe — Restaurant in Kowloon

Today I went to eat dinner in San Po Kong, and I felt that this restaurant was very comfortable and cozy, giving a homely feeling.

We ordered: Slow-cooked Pulled Pork Waffle Sandwich The slow-cooked pork was tender and cooked perfectly, paired with crispy waffles. The waffles were made flawlessly, not hard at all. The sauce of the pork was rich in flavor, which complemented the waffles very well.

Italian Baked Eggs with Tiger Prawns The texture of the Italian baked eggs was smooth, paired with fresh tiger prawns, making the dish full of seafood freshness. The aroma of the baked eggs harmonized beautifully with the sweetness of the prawns.

French Mille-Feuille (Matcha Strawberry with Strawberry Ice Cream) This dessert was exceptionally well-made. At first, I didn’t know what mille-feuille was and mistakenly thought it was a layer cake. When I tasted it, the mille-feuille had matcha cream inside, complemented by strawberries that were not sweet at all. Having read those good reviews, my friend and me wanted to have lunch there. We arrived at 12.00 noon the gate was still half open. In Hongkong, that is a sign of “preparation in progress”.

So we took the chance to walk around the neighborhood and was back 15 mins later.

Still a half open gate, with 5~6 other people awaiting. That is a sign of a good restaurant. But we were in a hurry so we switched to eat elsewhere.

Eventually we came again in tea time. My friend went to the restroom but was immediately called back off, was told that the toilet was closed to visitors as a anti-pandemic measure.

I wanted to tell the manager this is by law a restaurant needs to provide toilet facility to all its customers. The shop could close altogether if wishing to avoid the pandemic risk…. My friend held me cool, didn’t want to create a scene, just assuring this was our last visit to this cafe.

Good food alone does not make a good restaurant,...

Overall, I think the meat tastes so much better than the waffle, which they are famous for. Slow cooked pork belly waffle sandwich is a waffle sandwich. The pork belly is saucy, meaty, flavourful and tender. It is the best shredded pork I have ever eaten. However, the waffle is too airy and deflated somehow. It is steaming hot but not fragrant at all. Sriracha hot chilli tomato spaghetti with slow cooked saliva chicken is surprisingly tasty. Spaghetti is cooked to perfect and soaked with a spicy tasty tomato sauce. The chicken leg is tender and juicy, packed with sichuan flavour and the spices.
