Ruin the birthday night of my niece! Reserved table for 10 on last Thursday for dinner tonight at 7:30pm. This is what happened tonight, we were seated inside at the end corner of the restaurant. And we’re being pushed to finish our dinner asap. At first we didn’t know why the food come so fast while we were still ordering. And even worse we were told to settle the bill at 8:40pm, still thought that maybe the last order time is 8:30pm. We even didn’t finish our main course yet. All of a sudden, the staff started to clean up all the tables around us and started to move out all the stuff on the shelves next to us and put them onto the table around us, I’ll post a video for your reference. Then at 9:00pm, another staff come to us and told us to prepare to leave because the pest control needs to be started! OMG! We asked why because we checked again with the other staff that the last order time is 9:30 and you asked us to leave now? Then the staff said she just wanted to inform us and turn her face away! Then the pest control worker came in with a wooden ladder and climbed up to start wipe the shelves! We were feeling so surprised how can a restaurant do these to their customers. There are so many seats that they can arrange us to another table why they have to put us to the area that they need to do pest control. We can’t enjoy any moment during the whole dinner because we were pushed to finish and at least 3-4 staff keep moving things from the shelves to the table around us. We finally can’t accept it anymore and complain to the manageress, she just kept her tone nicely and say sorry and keep say no next time. “She didn’t think there is anything wrong. It’s no use to complain anymore! You paid already, what can you do,” That is her attitude! Maxim Group, what can you expect! Just the warning to all people in HK don’t go there! The food is no good, the service is no good, the price is like high compared to the quality! My niece has an “unforgettable” birthday! Google didn’t allow me to post a video!I can just...
Read moreAfter a long day at work it is a nice place to enjoy a decent meal. 🍽️
🗒️ On Fridays and Saturdays, there’s usually a line but if you go on a regular weekday then it is fine.
I ordered a set which includes daily soup 🍲 and fruit tea. You can also choose salad instead of soup, soft drinks or wine instead of fruit tea.
They will start with complimentary 🥖 with butter which is nice, at one point they replaced butter with vinegar and didn’t have butter on request which has stopped me from visiting for a while.
They have a large menu, each item at a different price range depending on what you like to order.
🐑 I ordered their lamb chops cooked to medium rare, which was nicely cooked and quite delicious with their mashed potatoes 🥔
🍰 You can also add a slice of cake or pie to end your meal which is very fulfilling and a great way to wrap up your night. Especially if you go with friends, it’s good to share and keep the chit chat going.
The only downside at most restaurants in Hong Kong nowadays is 90 minutes meal time. Which means even if I’d like to spend more time to enjoy my meal or come with a group of friends or family I’d hesitate as we wouldn’t be able to enjoy a full night with them ♥️
Instead, I’d recommend restaurants at SoHo if you’re looking to spend quality time with your loved and dear ones, there isn’t a need to rush!
Overall, it was a place for nice meal to treat...
Read moreUpdated on 17/08/2025 Added 2 stars for service but minus 1 star for food. I have been to the APM Simplylife 3 times before and fell in love with their Argintine Ribeye where I had it all 3 times there. I tried the same last night at the Festival Walk and the same order of 280g Argintine Ribeye as listed on their menu at both locations came out 1/3 smaller! What gives?! The cooking is also not as good as the APM venue. Also the taste of the salad dressing was so strong it rendered the crab meat in their salad tastless. What a waste!
End of update. Too many customers not enough waiters. The food tastes good but despite asking for water 3 times with 2 different waiters, I had to go get the water myself, twice! Both times I took the whole bottle, both times the bottle was taken away from our table soon after. So I couldn't even help save their time and they went the extra step to make sure of that! In the days that most HKers complained about restaurants' poor services, they made sure their service stays...
