Visited there during lunch

1️⃣是日靚湯-霸王花豬𦟌 (free) Hylocereus undatus has a unique slimy texture similar to okra. The soup is MSG-free, with natural sweetness from the flower and pork shank. 7/10

2️⃣欖菜肉碎炒飯 ($60) The portion is generous, well-fried, dry, and not oily. The minced meat and preserved vegetables are finely diced (brunoise), ensuring even distribution and flavor in every bite. However, the texture is somewhat monotonous for such a large plate of rice; more egg would enhance it. 7/10

3️⃣菜甫肉絲蝦仁炒粿條 ($65)The dish uses sliced pork belly, but it’s not well-seasoned, so the fatty flavor stands out. The large shrimp, bean sprouts, and yellow chives add crunchiness and sweetness. The kway teow has a strong rice aroma, remains non-oily, and holds its shape well after stir-frying. The dried radish is crunchy, with a delightful sweet-salty balance, adding a great touch. I recommend replacing the pork belly with salty pork finger for better flavor.

4️⃣沙茶牛肉芥蘭炒粿條($75) This kway teow is boiled rather than stir-fried, which enhances its rice aroma. The shacha sauce, combined with garlic and shallots, delivers a satisfying savory flavor. The beef slices are large, tender, and juicy. The kale is cooked perfectly, retaining some crunch and freshness. A hearty and satisfying dish. 8.5/10

5️⃣豆醬蒸黃腳𩶘配白飯($75) The soybean sauce is the least salty I’ve ever had, allowing the soy flavor from the whole beans to shine. The sizzling oil is light, but the yellowfin seabream is small with many tiny bones. The meat is tender, but the flavor is too plain and natural, making it hard to pair with rice 5.5/10 📍#和昌潮味館 #和昌潮汕滷鵝 Large portions, no service or tea charge, and warm, home-like service. The servers remind you to enjoy the dishes while they’re hot. Our group of four women had to pack extra food in...

Restaurant Review📋

Food🍽 Traditional Stuffed Crab in Two Ways 失傳釀鴛鴦蟹 One way was stuffing the crab🦀with Minced Pork🐷& Orange🧡Brown Meat. Another way was stuffing the crab🦀with Minced Pork🐷& Green Peas the Orange🧡Brown Meat was savoury & favourable Both ways was extremely heavy as you can see the crabs were fully stuffed. It's hard for one to have more than 4 pieces It has a really nice presentation, yet the minced pork🐷 didn't help to enhance the crab flavours. My friends' comments were the pork the resto was not using fresh & high quality pork. My opinion is, the minced pork could be done in a lighter way. There're so many steamed minced pork patty which are puffy & light by controlling the use of water yet still able to keep the thickness. Another way could be adding some diced water chestnuts to balance out the fattiness of the pork🐷 it's amazing to keep the traditions, yet the traditions could also be elevated to better level

Deep Fried Bombay Duck Balls 酥香九肚魚丸 outside was crispy, inside was puffy & bit sleeky with mild yet pleasant Bombay Duck🐟 flavours they're better than Bombay Duck frites that could be easily seen in other restaurants as the contract between the crispy & light skin and the puffy & sleek texture was far more obvious when presenting in a sphere shape. Nice Dish👍

Ambience💗 a bit stuffy & not spacious inside the toilet outside was really not good

Woo Cheong was a Chiu Chow restaurant located in Prince Edward, 5 minute walk from the mtr and adjacent to a wet market.

Similar to other Chiu Chow restaurants in Hong Kong, you may see a lot of marinated gooses hanging up in its display window. Inside the restaurant, it is clean and tidy.

The lunch menu is more affordable than al carte menu if you want to try Chiu Chow foods by your own. Three kinds of marinated goose is their recommended lunch set. That include goose meat, intestine and liver and is served with rice and soup of the day. The marinated meat is not tender enough and no sauce and herbal fragrance. A little bit disappointing.

Marinated goose liver is very nice, full of fatty fragrance, smooth and creamy. Highly recommended. Marinated goose intestine is soft and no bad smell.

You must try their oyster dry fish congee. It is very delicious and the small oysters are very fresh. Furthermore, the set lunch also provides two Chiu Chow dumplings at your choice.

Chiu Chow restaurants usually are famous in beef ball noodle. However, forget Woo Cheong's soup noodles. The beef ball is very hard and obviously just taken from the freezer. Very bad and please don't order. That is a waste of money.

By the way, if you like birds, you would take photos of those 3 parrots outside...
