“Average Hotel @ Prince Edward. ”
I am a regular visitor for Hong Kong in every few months . tried this hotel because it’s a new setting during this season when I am there from 24-29th Oct 2024. (6 days stay)
Bad start as I asked for queen size bed and booked it as a queen size , but upon arrival I was told they are running out of queen size bed room, Which i think they should have arrange or plan this in advance. As I wasn’t pre notified and it brings inconvenience for me. A smaller scale hotel with only 1 front desk most of the time . Que is expected , can be abit annoying when you are in a hurry. Doesn’t help if the counter staff attitude is below average . To my surprise , if it’s past midnight , the front desk that is operating looks a security guard who is 50s with low level in attitude and also weak knowledge in operation when I am in need. During the stay I met 5 front desk staff. Only one that is exceptional good when I am back to collect my luggage after checking out on the last day 29th Oct , and gone out for an appointment. A tall Young guy which the hotel should be recruiting such a role model for the front desk . Sorry if I should be asking for his name. Room is relatively smaller. Toilet flash is faulty . Shower area smells nasty by the cheap bleaching agent they used . It is choked and I have to solve it myself by removing all the dirty long hair from the drainage left over by the previous or the past clients.
Good point : Phone operator at night is from a center office, guy speak good English and is also a great help. Room Cleaners are friendly and helpful . Near MTR station .
All in all , stay if you think Prince Edward is convenient for your trip. Just a place to Shower and sleep nothing exclusive . Just an Average Hotel with below average services in my opinion. Not coming back if I have a better location or counter...
Read moreOvernight flight arrival and feeling tired upon check in was definitely and very surprised that no slippers arrange in room…it is super ridiculous and I felt sad that on the hotel staff’s response is very unprofessional. Only mentioned it is management decision and not going to help the guest to solve the problem. Hotel is a place that to provide a home feeling place when someone out of home town and please think what guest need and not only think how to earn as much as possible from guest. Overpriced in this district and the service for sure. I don’t expect almost 1500 per night with this kind of 3 stars service. One more, how come can share the man power for 2 hotels, I have to wait for at least 15 mins at the hotel lobby with dark light atmosphere for check in since the kind staff told me that need to wait for the duty manager come from other properties to doing the chk in for me and it was mid night time. I have never experienced this kind of bad service in other hotels before including when I travel in China. But the first guy I met at lobby (I think he is a concierge staff) he was kind and nice. Many thanks. I can accept no plastic toiletry but can’t accept no slippers in room, it is a very basic item for a Hotel to provide accommodation service right? Wearing my dirty shoes to walk around the room and go to washroom to have a shower, and wearing back the dirty shoes after I cleaned...
Read moreThe hotel is in new condition, and our room on the 18th floor offered a lovely city view. It was spotless, and the bed was comfortable. All the staff we encountered were very professional and courteous. However, a few aspects detracted from our overall experience:
Room Comfort: Only one chair was provided, which made it less comfortable for both my wife and me to relax together.
Refrigerator Issues: The in-room fridge was not cold at all. When we called about it, staff informed us that all units were like that. It was housed inside a cabinet that trapped heat, making the fridge even less effective.
The room included thoughtful amenities like tea bags and coffee, which we appreciated. However, the water kettle didn’t work properly—while the switch light turned on, it failed to heat the water.
A/C and Humidity: The air conditioning was overly cold and couldn’t be adjusted, forcing us to turn it off at night. Ironically, the room felt colder than the fridge. The extremely low humidity caused me a minor sinus headache during our stay—something I didn’t experience at the other two hotels we stayed at afterward.
TV Functionality: We were only able to stream YouTube on the TV during the first night; it didn’t work for the rest...
