Estabelecimento de Comidas Sun Yick — Restaurant in Nossa Senhora de Fátima

This little restaurant is a hidden gem within Macau. Mostly visited by the locals, this is a go to restaurant serving the locals of Macau, few toursists know about this place, and those that do, keep it to themselves.

I was introduced to this by a friend of mine who stumbled upon this restaurant accidently years ago, simply magnificent!!! Everything is made fresh with fresh ingredients, cooked to perfection, and if you order their special chicken, it is literally infused with flavour - literally infused with flavour. This infusion not only adds flavour to the chicken meat, but it also tenderizes the chicken and makes the meat so soft and supple....just writing this review makes me hungry. Imagine ultra tender, ultra smooth and silky, and ultra flavour, that's this chicken.

We came here early (about 5:20 pm) before opening for dinner and were seated. We waited for the team to finish their dinner. A Gentlemen then approached us, inquiring what our preferred order was. Because it was just the two of us, we ordered a Grass Carp (fish) and a vegetable (Tong Cai 通菜) dish and just one bowl of rice. Dishes taste great, very much to our favorite, which they still maintain (I have been here many times years ago). we then added eggplant ground pork dish, which taste delicious. We were amazed by the quality of the shrimp, freshly marinated in Chinese cooking wine, then put inside a pot with hot stones, poured in sea salt and more cooking wine, a super tasty dish is done.

The shell is super hot, but it cannot stop us from eating. No heavy flavour, but damn nice!

The stramed eggplants is also nice, very Cantonese style, worth trying.
