Unacceptable Treatment: Stranded Until 2 AM and Subjected to DiscriminationRating: [★☆☆☆☆ - 1 Star]To the Management of Victoria Hotel Macau,I am writing this review to detail the profoundly disappointing and discriminatory treatment I received on 25/08/2025. What should have been a smooth check-in process turned into one of the worst travel experiences of my life due to the unprofessional and bigoted behavior of your staff. The core issue began with a dispute between the hotel and its Chinese counterparts. While I understand that internal business issues can occur, it is absolutely unacceptable to make a paying guest the victim of those disputes. Despite having a confirmed reservation, I was refused check-in and left stranded in the lobby until 2:00 AM while this internal matter was resolved. No viable solution, such as arranging a room at a partner hotel, was offered. I was simply told to wait indefinitelyHowever, the most egregious part of the night was not the wait itself, but the conduct of your staff.During this prolonged wait, I was subjected to blatant discrimination and racism. Several staff members engaged in unprofessional behavior that included:Mockery and Derisive Comments: I clearly heard staff members murmuring, making jokes, and laughing at my expense. This was not subtle; it was overt and meant to be heard.Beckoning and Dismissive Gestures: I was treated with utter contempt, beckoned in a manner one would use for an animal, rather than addressed with the basic respect any human being deserves.Creating a Hostile Environment: The collective behavior of the team on duty created an environment of intimidation and othering. I felt targeted and humiliated because of my race/nationality.A hotel's duty is to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all guests. Victoria Hotel Macau failed in this most fundamental obligation. The staff displayed a shocking lack of empathy, professionalism, and basic human decency. This was not a simple service failure; it was a complete breakdown of ethics and hospitality. I have stayed in many hotels around the world and have never been made to feel so disrespected and unwelcome.I strongly caution anyone considering this hotel, especially international travelers of color, to be aware of the potential for racist treatment and unprofessionalism.Note to Management: This review has been shared on multiple platforms. i expecte response from management addressing the specific behavior of your staff on the night of 26/08/2025 . This incident requires more than an apology; it requires mandatory anti-discrimination and customer service training for your...
Read moreThis has been the most unpleasant trip to Macau I have ever had. None of the employees could speak english (except from check in, deposit and check out), this means they could not provide us with any proper information. The day we arrived, there was a typhoon coming so most places started the close early. The next morning the typhoon was gone already and we went to reception to get information on how to get to Hong Kong but it was useless. They said nothing was working; no taxis, no drivers, no ubers, no public busses and that we had to walk on the rain with a huge suitcase to Gongbei Port (it was 1km away but i want to make it clear we had a huge suitcase and it was raining). There was only one employee, a young girl, trying to help us. The other two, one was laughing at us making fun of the situation and the other guy kept making noises as if he was complaining, taking long breaths as if what we were asking was too much and not attainable. We communicated in english using a app and also with my little knowledge of mandarin. When leaving the hotel, the city was full of busses and when arriving to the Port it was full of taxis… so how come just 10 minutes before they said there was no option to go there but to walk? This is really not the hotel to stay if you want a staff that tries to provide you with any sort of information. Location of the hotel is in an area that is not clean at all and there are no restaurant options apart from a Pizza Hut...
Read moreI really enjoyed my stay here. The only thing was that I tried to check in a little early about 1 o’clock and told me to check in was it 2 o’clock so I walk around the block and come back 15 minutes later in the lobby is filled with Chinese that we’re checking in early and I’m just standing there like why couldn’t I have checked in early… But it all worked out because the lady behind the desk remembered me. I came up to her and gave her a flower because it was national women’s day and I got checked in quickly. You should probably know you have to pay a HK$500 deposit here., Which I wasn’t expecting, but the rooms are really nice for the price and the location is pretty great so you should stay here at the...
