South Beauty — Restaurant in Shanghai

Good place to try sichuan food in shanghai.

But very hard to access as it's on top of the building with few direct access via elevator from ground floor. If you are a tourist or you are on a business trip with carrier and stuff, it would be hard to visit this place. Ask ppl around, where ciao jiang nan is, and try to ask everyone on route cause you will be lost on your way eventually.

Service is good though, and food are very delicious with chinese beer (served cold on order).

I would visit this place again on every business trip to shanghai, if i have enough time.

One last thing, it's hard to grab taxi from the taxi station if you visit here at dinner time. Should download chinese taxi apps or use...

10月 1~9日 2017年 중추절에 중국여행. 6일차 저녁 동방명주탑과 가까운 정대광장에 위치한 South beauty/俏江南/초강남/치아오지앙난 가게입니다. 쓰촨 성의 맵고 얼얼한 요리를 주로 하고있습니다. 상해에 여러 가게가 있는 걸로 봐서 프렌차이즈 레스토랑 같은데 가격이 '중국에 비해'저렴하진 않습니다. 그러나 마파두부와 쓰촨식 만두는 값어치를 충분히 하였고 설화 맥주를 곁들어 먹으니 아주 좋았습니다. 옆에 한 남녀가 식사를 하였는데 남은음식을 따로 포장해준걸로 봐서 음식포장이 되는거 같습니다(확실치 않으니 직원에게 물어보세요). 아 그리고 메뉴판에 영어로도 적혀있습니다.

육상로터리에서 백화점을 들어가면 지도에 가게 위치가 표시되있지만 에스컬레이터로는 최상층까지 갈 수가 없었습니다. 에스컬레이터로 갈 수 있는 곳까지 올라가면 근처에 보안요원이 보일텐데 보안요원에게 가게 이름을 보여주면 어디로 가야되는지 손짓으로 알려줍니다. 그 방향으로 쭉 가면 계단이 나오는데 그 계단으로 올라가면 됩니다.

웨이터 직원도 아주 친절하였습니다. 남성분이었는데 가게 이름에 관해 '치아오지앙난?'라고 물으니 웃으며 그렇다고 답을 해주더군요. 동방명주 탑을 보고 저녁 쓰촨요리를 위한 방문에 추천합니다.

10.1~9 2017 Trip to china at midautumn day. 6Days Dinner This restaurant and oriental pearl tv tower is very close. This restaurant's concept is China's Sichuan region meal. There are several stores in Shanghai, so it looks like a franchise restaurant. But the price no cheap. However mápo dòufu and Sichuan style's mántóu is very delicious and with xuěhuā beer it is veryyyyy delicious!! A man and a woman had a meal next table, and the leftovers were packed separately, so it looks like they were packed in.(But Uncertain.) AHH This restaurant to offer english menu board.

In department store The map showed the store's location, but the escalator was unable to get to the top. If you go up to the escalator, you'll see a security guard nearby, and when you show him the store name, he'll wave you where to go. If you go straight ahead in that direction, you'll see a staircase, and you can walk up it.

Restaurant's worker is very kind. Asked him 'this restaurant name is qiàojiāngnán'? and he said 'yes qiàojiāngnán' with smile.

I actually went to the one in IFC mall, but Google doesn’t have it in their maps. South Beauty has a whole book for you to order from with pictures and English translations. They are really creative in how dishes are served such as one of our chicken orders came in a bird cage with popcorn. The jumbo shrimp with sauce and fruit was delicious. The cold chicken in spicy sauce was probably my favorite. I loved it. Their whole book menu of food options looked great in fact. If I could have I would have ordered most of the book. The food we ordered was delicious and I highly recommend this restaurant when...
