Food: 5/5 I got a drink with two desserts, the drink "Brown Sugar Latte" cost HKD48, and the desserts, "Dirty Tiramisu" and "Homemade Basque Cheesecake" costs HKD58 each.
To start, the desserts were phenomenal, the cheesecske was rich in cheesy flavoring, it also had a Carbonara-like sauce on the top that gave it a creamy bite. The cheesecake had a smooth and soft texture to it, and overall it just had a tangy cheese flavor.
For the Tiramisu, it had a balanced taste of being creamy and sweet, yet also had a rich taste of cocoa. The melted cheesy sauce only adds to the delightful contrast of the coffee and cream. Paired with how visually appealing it is, it's fluffy texture of coca and cream was a delight.
Surprisingly, I found the most disappointing to be the coffee itself, the brown sugar latte is as the name suggest, I chose the skim milk option, and it was basically just your typical café latte, but with a mild brown sugar taste to it. It's really nothing exceptional, and considering there wasn't any latte art, it was pretty disappointing, but considering it's still rich in coffee flavor, it's a mediocre drink only because it's compared to the visually appetizing and delectable desserts.
Service: 3/5 It's your typical restaurant or café service, there's nothing exceptional, yet nothing to bash about, hence it gets an average score.
Atmosphere: 4/5 It's not located in the worst spot, it's only a bit far to bus stations and the mass transit railway system(MTR). The seatings were also comfortable, overall, you will feel comfy in this café, and I think it's a great place to chill...
Read moreThere are a couple of Boundless by Reaction coffee shop & cafes in Hong Kong. One is in Tsuen Wan while the other is here along Tin Kok Road in Tai Po. They have a nice indoor seating area with somewhat tightly configured seating. You can also do take-away and delivery in the area if preferred. Opening hours are 9am to 9.30pm daily.
Menu consists of a fairly typical coffee shop range of creative burgers, sandwiches, pastas and desserts. I tried their slow cooked pork belly with slightly spicy homemade kimchi sauce. The pork was overcooked a bit and too dry on its own. The kimchi sauce was nice, added a nice flavour to the burger. Fries served were fine. On the occasion I had a pretty good espresso tonic as well.
Overall, not a bad lunch at Boundless by Reaction. Would be glad to return for another lunch based on this experience. It is a good, modern place for western lunch and coffee if you are looking for such a...
Read moreService was good, they allowed me to bring in my folded bike into their establishment. The party next to me brought in their dog as well. Glad to see more places that are pet friendly.
I ordered a espresso tonic and their signature dutch baby The food came out pretty fast, but wasnt impressed by the flavor tho. Its very one dimensional. I mostly taste mushrooms. There wasnt enough salt as well so was pretty bland. Also being a Dutch baby the wow factor should be seeing it all puffed up it is served to you, but they put eggs and other ingredients on top of, it was all deflated and flat as it reaches your table which was disappointing. Also that randomly placed rocket leaves and almond flakes with no dressing whatsoever just made the entire dish look messy.
At least the tiramisu I ordered in hopes to forget the main...
