I was really drawn to this steakhouse after seeing it recommended on YouTube, so I made a special trip to Tai Po to give it a try 🤩
The steakhouse isn't particularly large, and you can see it all at once 👀. The tables are arranged in a circular manner with a large chandelier in the center, and the blue and brown decor is quite stylish 💙🤎
The set dinner is always generous, so we only ordered one set dinner and added a T-bone steak 🥩. In the end, we were both very full.
˗ˏˋ Set dinner $588/1 ˎˊ˗ ❥ Cream of pumpkin soup It had a taste similar to pumpkin puree, very hearty and flavorful with a strong pumpkin sweetness. It can be eaten with crispy bread.
The set comes with two pieces of baguette and one bun, served with their own beef bone and beef fat spread, which is very rich and delicious.
❥ Fresh Selected Oysters🦪 To put it simply, they were fresh and large.
❥ Traditional British Wellington Beef Fillet This is a very thoughtful dish, with the beef fillet wrapped in bacon🥓 and cooked to perfection. The bacon has a strong fragrance, and the beef fillet is tender and thick, with a nice chew. There is also an oyster inside, which has a soft texture, providing a nice contrast to the beef fillet. The portion size is larger than expected.
❥ Truffle Fries🍟 The fries are thick and crispy, sprinkled with black truffle and served with black truffle sauce on the side, offering a double dose of truffle enjoyment❤️

I had the 580$ tasting menu and some had the 398$ set dinner, a bottle of Chilean red. First the lobster bisque was full of flavor but not drowning with butter, the salad was dressed in light dressing, my medium-rare Wellington was exactly medium rare (burgundy colored at the core and warm to touch, not oozy) and the foie gras truffle balanced well. Meat was tender. The crispy pastry not drenched with juices. The 8oz beef steak did not have the gaminess of Angus but still tasted fine and perfectly cooked. The fish’s skin was crispy. The beef lasagna melts with cheese. Dessert was Lava cake (tiny, size of a golf ball), chestnut mousse with oat sawdust and tiramisu. Coffee and tea not included. Service was discreet and timely. Although the decor of this place is quite retro (reminds one of Wong Kar wai’s movies), the 90s music at the background brings back memories of a bygone youth 😅😅😅. Quite an experience.
