Great Day Restaurant — Restaurant in Tai Po District

Came here on a Monday evening. Fairly spacious and cleanly maintained for a Chinese restaurant. But like any restaurants in HK, remember to bring along a windbreaker, as the aircon thermostat must have been set at 20 Celsius!

Back to the food, they are not bad at all. In fact, it's quite a nice surprise, as all are served very hot. For those who know Chinese food, this is paramount as lukewarm food is a great turn-off!

On the day, they carried $38 specials. We took advantage by ordering sweet pepper deep fried chicken wings. Portion was not bad and so much better that those served by McDonald's, leave alone KFC!

Another plate we tried was fish stomach stuffed with battered shrimp. Now, if you hate MSG, this is certainly for you!!!

Last plate we ordered was stewed fried bean curd. This was very fresh and tender. Definitely no sour overtone at all. Highly recommended.

First time visit this restaurant even have stayed in Taipo over 10 years! Food is very nice and with big portion, however, the environment is a bit crowded. Service is just so so, waiters are not really professional as you need to raise your hand for long time but still can’t get any feedback. We had a party of 3 for lunch today at this restaurant. The place is crowned, noisy and not well ventilated, hence a smell of old food hangs in the air. Staff work is erratic and difficult to get their attention. We ordered a noodle dish, roasted pork with rice and chilled chicken with chili sauce. Food was served pretty fast, but the food taste, texture and presentation is far below expectations. Overall an average experience....
