Let's begin,
The pros: If you get the breakfast included its nice, and the breakfast is 7/10, nothing special but definitely appreciated.
Most of the staff is friendly.
The suite is spacious.
The Cons: DO NOT ASK THEM TO DO YOUR LAUNDRY. We stayed more than 10 days, and needed laundry service. The paper they give you only appears to say the price if you are requesting them to iron or do another service. We didn't check those boxes. It also stated that if you turn it in before 9am you'll receive it the same day. They didn't give it back the same day but until the next day after noon. And the total price was 451,000COP = $120USD. There is no place where that is acceptable, they completely took advantage in that situation. But obviously we paid.
Another CRAZY thing, 4 times, did employees walk in to the room WITHOUT knocking or making themselves known. 3/4 times they walked in, saw we were there and left without apologizing or saying anything at all. THIS IS IN COLOMBIA. Think of how wild and dangerous that is. Calling the embassy to check our bags before going to the airport was somthing that came across my mind, only after checking everything hundreds of times did I feel okay flying back.
When they do the room service they don't change your sheets, they only turn them over, even if you leave the little card that states you wanted them changed they most of the time don't.
After realizing they walked in multiple times we asked them to stop cleaning and left the zz thing on the door because of how unsafe it felt.
They did NOT steal anything at all which was appreciated when they did clean but only once did they make the room with us not there.
Also, the kitchen had one small pan, two forks and two knifes. Two plates, and two cups. No other cookwear, so we didn't have the opportunity to cook. Also nothing to wash your own dishes.
Overall they definitely lost a customer and lost recommendation, the biggest bummer was being bamboozled out of $120usd to wash some clothes, and people walking in without making...
Read moreWe were going to stay for 3 nights and then stay elsewhere in the city, but due to their excellent service, safety, great location and amenities we decided to extend our stay for 10 more days.
The good service attitude of all the staff is worth highlighting, everyone is always very welcoming and attentive; such as Mr. Javier Trujillo, always with a great attitude, good disposition and a warm smile, as on one occasion when our suite card didn’t work and he did not hesitate to go up as soon as possible and solved the problem and always very diligent to anything we might need.
The breakfast buffet has several options, fruits, custom omelette, etc..as a suggestion they could add more typical colombian cravings to the breakfast menu such as ‘Pan de Bono’ and ‘Arepa de Choclo’ but in general it is very good and varied and the service is great.
The only inconvenience that we experienced during our stay, and that we notified to the manager on duty with the hope that it can be improved, was that we did not have a cable signal in the last three nights before our check out and the TV in our suite was not Smart TV and when asked the manager if they could do anything about it or if they had any movies on DVD since there was a DVD console in the suite, he politely responded that it was a damage to the area by the cable provider, they didn't have movies on DVD's and that at the time not all suites had Smart TV's but they were in the process of being renovated, which would be very convenient to have entertainment options with applications such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, etc..
Overall, our stay at the Lancaster House Suites Hotel was very pleasant, it is a good option to stay in Bogotá and we would be happy to stay again on a future visit.
Thank you to all the staff for their kindness and excellent service..wishing you happy holidays and a prosperous...
Read moreThe Good:
Room was big.
Restaurant food was delicious.
Rooms were clean
Location was great.
ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT:
While not rude, but I felt staff attitude was a bit passive-aggressive at times
Hotel is outdated and could use some renovations.
The bad:
Service is lackluster. Unless you are paying for room service, don’t expect to get anything brought up to your room, it is faster to get it yourself. We needed an extra towel, we called three times asking for it and after the third call we waited almost an hour for it to be brought to our rooms.
One day there was no hot water.
Wifi only works in the suite’s living room, once you get into the bedroom or bathroom, wifi does not work.
-Breakfast is mediocre and poor service. Servers never told us we could order pancakes, we knew because we saw other guests had pancakes. Breakfast time is really understaffed. Servers kept forgetting for our requests also. No variety in breakfast.
-We stayed for 6 nights, during 2 days there was an unpleasant smell in the elevator area that made us gag and we decided to take the stairs every time while holding our breath to avoid that smell.
During our last night, nobody offered to bring down our luggage, we had to bring it down ourselves. I’ve stayed on similar category hotels and they always brought down or luggage.
We ordered a taxi from hotel to airport on our last day, this payed directly to the hotel. The driver didn’t asked us what airline we were traveling with and he just left us where he wanted, we had to walk a long way to our airline. I mean, the service is not even free so this is unacceptable. He was a bit rude also. We stayed on another hotel in Bogota a couple of years earlier which offered similar service and service and attitude was...
