I had a very pleasant experience after they took me in as a one person party without reservation on a busy late afternoon. Service is good, attentive, and take good care of guests. Food is French with a twist of the local cuisine. I had the ceviche with coconut milk which was excellent. The portion was small though. I love the French canard preparation so I had the orange duck that consisted of both slices and the whole duck magret!! The slices were delicious! The whole part was ok. It had the “chicharron” part that I know locals (and me ) love but in my opinion it just overpowers the actual duck meat. The dish was a good portion and I was very satisfied!
I live in NYC so I don’t mind eating by myself but I know that in LatinAmerica eating out is for the most part a social event with others. I wasn’t treated any different and the attention was always there. I found prices to be OK although I’m sure they are on the high side for locals. I did my own wine pairing. I believe I spent as much as a couple or maybe 3 people! So there you go solo travelers. Go and eat out. La Brasserie will take good care of you! I do recommend a...
Read moreBeen there a couple of times while visiting Bogota. Both times sat at the bar where the service was Top Notch. We ordered a few beers and the Pate. (Very nice but note that they dont have foie gras )... was chicken pate... we went for the Rib Eye (most expensive cut in the menu) excellent flavour and came out just below $40.00
The finishing touch was an Awesome dessert recommended by Karen (bartender)... a cheese flan that you cannot afford to miss.
In all... great value for the service and quality of food.
Note on wine list: a glass of Pinot Noir Russian Valley will put you behind close to 23 dollars... (that bottle retails for 30-33)... now, that was way overpriced.... we opted for beers since the more acceptable wine offerings were so so Chilean wines....
Room to improve in that regard...
Will come...
Read moreMy experience at La Brasserie was generally disappointing. The only positive points were the butter and black olive sauce accompanying the bread served as an appetizer, along with the "Basilic" cocktail, which was refreshing and well-balanced with its basil flavor.
Unfortunately, the main dish, the "Petite bouillabaisse," was surprisingly bland and arrived cold at the table. A major letdown for what should have been a signature dish.
The service was very slow, with long waits between courses, worsening the overall experience.
In summary, I cannot recommend La Brasserie. I suggest looking for alternatives that offer better quality in both food...
