The room was really nice, clean, had everything that a normal hotel has. Very friendly staff, very attentive to when you come in or come downstairs, they even tried using English with me, and were willing to use the google translator on my phone when needed. ||||Really close to the embassy (like a one minute walk close). There were a good amount of restaurants within a 2 or 3 minute walk (Subway and Papa johns within 5 minutes if you're not adventurous). There's also a pharmacy and convince store about 2 buildings down if you forget or need anything (ATM inside the Exito convenience store).|||| We only had 1 room key for 2 of us, and you had to have the key in a slot for the power to work (cool idea, first time that I ever saw it), so if I went for a walk while my husband was sleeping, it could be a little inconvenient. ||||They had their own driver at the hotel, and if they weren't there, they were quick to grab a taxi (though I definitely preferred their personal driver to the taxis). The prices for their driver are cheaper then a normal taxi, but it feels safer when you know they are from the hotel. ||||When we were checking out we went to pay (catching a cab ride to the airport, and paying for a bottle of water we drank form the mini bar), and I think they charged a little extra, but they didn't give a receipt, so I'm not sure what was charged (I drink a lot of coffee, so perhaps that?). But we were in a rush, so didn't have time to ask.||||But overall I definitely stay there again and totally recommend it to friends,...
Read moreI had a confirmed reservation for my wife through booking.com. I made the reservation in San Francisco for my wife's immigration hearing. She traveled from Cali to Bogota. The reservation was confirmed though booking.com and was nonrefundable. However, neither the hotel nor booking.com charged my credit card for the room, which one would expect them to do on a nonrefundable room. And when my wife and her sister arrived at the hotel they demanded the physical credit card which, of course, was in San Francisco. My wife had all of my credit card information but the Embassy Park Hotel refused it. I called the hotel and they were even less helpful. My wife had to give up all the cash she had on her and I was forced to wire her the rest. In addition, booking.com told me that they would address this issue but never did. Bottom line is that Embassy Park Hotel is for foreigners with credit cards. If you are poor and Colombian, run from this place because they will not accommodate you. And booking.com...
Read moreMy stay at the hotel was disappointing due to a significant billing error. Upon check-in, the staff attempted to charge me double the agreed-upon rate of 500,000, which was confirmed at the time of my reservation. The incorrect charge of 1,000,000 was alarming and required my immediate attention. I had to intervene and request that they honor the original agreement. After discussing the matter, they eventually corrected the charge to reflect the initial rate.
While I understand that mistakes can happen, an error of this magnitude is concerning. I hope that the hotel will take steps to ensure the accuracy of their billing processes to prevent similar issues...
