Delicious and beautiful espresso beverages, and the space was a delight. Why one star? Unfortunately the pricing was incorrect on the online English menu. We had only discovered this because I reviewed the bill before paying to find that the food was between 13-30% more expensive than the prices we saw on the menu. When I notified the waitress she said that they had been having problems with the English menu and that she couldn’t do anything about it. When I asked to speak to her manager, she said that she was on holiday. After a few minutes of back and forth, she offered to take off a small portion from the tip. It did not cover the difference but I let it go since I didn’t want to waste anymore time. She then typed in the new number to be paid.

Prior to visiting Cali, Colombia for the first time I had read many articles about locals scamming foreigners. We were staying in a nice and safe neighbourhood and generally I’d like to think this is not an issue everywhere. Showing the wrong price is one thing but not having the integrity to make things right was disappointing, considering it appeared she knew of the price difference, did not tell us, and when it came time to pay she could type in any number into the machine anyway.

This establishment poses a challenge in terms of its operational procedures. Uncertain about the method of ordering, I approached the main counter only to be directed to choose any available table. Despite my attempts to get the attention of a server after a thirty-minute wait, I was unfortunately overlooked. Upon returning to the main counter, I was once again instructed to take a seat, yet service remained elusive.
