Restaurant Review: Astoria de Amor
If you’re searching for an Italian dining experience that feels like a warm embrace from the very first bite, Astoria de Amor is the place to be. This enchanting restaurant, with its charming decor and inviting ambiance, transports you straight to the heart of Italy. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the delightful aroma of simmering sauces and the sound of laughter, setting the stage for an unforgettable culinary journey.
On my recent visit, I ordered the gnocchi, and let me just say — it was nothing short of extraordinary. The dish arrived beautifully presented, each pillow of gnocchi perfectly formed and glistening in a rich, homemade marinara sauce that had clearly been simmered to perfection. The first bite was pure bliss; the gnocchi was light and fluffy, melting in my mouth like clouds of potato goodness. The sauce was bursting with fresh flavors, infused with aromatic herbs and a hint of garlic that danced on my palate.
The portion size was generous, yet I found myself unable to resist finishing every last morsel. It was evident that the chefs at Astoria de Amor take immense pride in their craft, using only the finest ingredients to create a dish that is both comforting and sophisticated.
But what truly sets Astoria de Amor apart is the phenomenal service. Our server, Isabella, was a delight — warm, attentive, and exuding a genuine passion for the food. She took the time to explain the specials and offered thoughtful wine pairings, ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. Isabella’s enthusiasm for the menu was contagious, and her attention to detail made us feel like cherished guests rather than just customers.
As we savored our meals, the ambiance of the restaurant wrapped around us like a cozy blanket. Soft Italian music played in the background, and the twinkling lights overhead created an inviting intimacy that made the evening feel special.
To finish off our meal, we couldn’t resist trying the Tiramisu, and it was the ideal conclusion. Light and creamy with just the right amount of coffee flavor, it was a sweet farewell to a truly remarkable dining experience.
Astoria de Amor is more than just a restaurant; it’s a love letter to Italian cuisine that captivates the senses and nourishes the soul. With phenomenal service, delectable dishes like the gnocchi, and an atmosphere that feels like home, this restaurant has earned a special place in my heart. I can’t wait to return and explore more of...
Read moreI didn’t get to visit their lauded spot in Bogotá. The Cali restaurant is on Granada’s attractive 9th Ave. It’s a surprisingly large and cool space. The table service is very good, food is excellent. There are three excellent beef cuts. If you are very hungry and want the best one, get the Storia over the Angosto. The pork elbow is spectacular. We also tried the several appetizers including the varied antipasto and the eggplant — all perfect, with high quality ingredients.
The only setback is with the alcohol. My nephew ordered Italian red wine by the glass and it was served very cold. Their liquor selection at the bar is as cookie cutter as it gets. I think they had one single Colombian product (Hechicera Rum). But they had many bottles / brands from Venezuela, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto Rico. The whole basic Bacardi collection. Many cool spots in Granada have artisanal Aguardiente… Storia had none of that. Even the whiskys and tequilas were what you see at a basic chain restaurant in the US. And… they have an Italian theme, but they basically had no amaros, perhaps one bottle of basic vermouth…
I hope that they look into this.
They are going for cool… but their bar is not that. I feel that you need to embrace a more tailored (and local) vibe to...
Read moreIf I could give 0 I would. I have had the food here once and it was great, after visiting I am glad it was a take out the first time.... Never. Again. Would I waste my money at this place due to the rudeness of the people whom work there. The way in which I was spoken to and then told to “move” because they didn’t have room was appalling. I had then moved after being told- not even asked- to do so, then once I did they told me they didn’t want me at the table I had chosen and to “move” again. I had waited 20+ minutes for someone to even acknowledge me and my friend after being given the menu. Was given attitude when asked if we could place our order, then waited another 20+ for drinks that never came. After the amount of rudeness we went through, we decided a more comfortable and welcoming atmosphere would have been better... happy woman’s day to me right!? Thanks!
So if you want decent food- decent- I would go here. But if your a person like me who wants to feel comfortable and avoid unnecessary moments such as this waste of time I would continue down the street and check out some other awesome options, there’s event...
