UPDATE: Have now eaten in Helena Adentro - the view on both floors of El Muladar is more romantic and more impressive - there is a rotting canopy and satellite dish obstructing the view at Helena Adentro and multiple houses close to Helena Adentro cheapen the view.
The lovely fire pit they light at sunset in El Muladar enhances the view.
Speaking of the view - it's best enjoyed from the comfort of a sophisticated - well padded - and comfortable seat.
The seats in Helena Adentro are literally either metal folding chairs or plastic - not what you want your date - or your mother - to sit on because they hurt.
The seating in El Muladar embraces you - comforts you.
And if you're tall your legs won't fit under the low tables.
Additionally - Helena Adentro sits atop of a busy road so the sickening odors of diesel buses and motorcycles kills the joy you get of inhaling a lovely aroma when your food arrives.
Avoid anything made with local Finlandia Cheese - you'll feel like a cow at a salt lick.
Original Post I was hesitant to eat here because of some reviews - but Helena Adentro was packed so I opted for El Muladar.
What a stroke of good luck.
After two months in Colombia eating in the highest rated restaurants in Medellin - Manizales and multiple Pueblos Patrimonios - I'm pleased to be able to say that the "Lomo a la India" is sheer perfection - the quality of the beef rivals what I enjoy in Argentina and the United States.
The cut of beef used in this dish is beautiful - don't destroy it.
Don't dry it out.
Don't order it "done" or "well done" then blame the chef.
Do this cut of beef justice - order it "medium rare".
The sides were exquisitely seasoned.
The presentation of the dish is magazine worthy.
Those who complain it takes too long for the food to arrive must usually eat "fast food". When I order a dish in a fine dining restaurant I expect it to take time to be properly prepared before it's presented to me.
Service was attentive - professional - and courteous.
I used my credit card.
The view from either floor is beautiful - just gently...

Views to Die For.
This restaurant undeniably boasts one of the most breathtaking locations I've ever had the pleasure of dining at. The panoramic views are simply spectacular, a feast for the eyes that alone almost justifies the trip. The spacious, airy salon and well-appointed tables create a comfortable and elegant atmosphere, perfect for a special occasion or a leisurely meal. The service was impeccable. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly, adding a touch of warmth to the experience. Furthermore, the extensive drink menu offered a fantastic variety of options, from classic cocktails to local specialties, catering to every palate. However, the food, unfortunately, fell short of expectations. While the presentation was adequate, the flavors were underwhelming, and some dishes lacked the finesse one would expect at this price point. There's definite room for improvement in the culinary department. Additionally, while the main dining area was impressive, some of the peripheral areas, like the restrooms, showed signs of wear and tear and could benefit from some refurbishment. The prices are decidedly in the mid-high range, reflecting the premium location and service. While the views and service are worth paying for, the current quality of the food makes it feel a bit overpriced. In summary: Pros: Absolutely stunning location and views, spacious and elegant salon, excellent service, wide variety of drinks. Cons: Food quality needs significant improvement, some physical areas need maintenance, prices are on the higher side. Recommendation: If you're looking for a memorable dining experience with incredible views and excellent service, this restaurant is worth a visit. However, be prepared for the food to be less impressive than the surroundings. Hopefully, the management will address the culinary shortcomings, as this restaurant has the potential to be truly...
Read moreI saw some ratings below about the food quality and seasoning - couldn’t disagree more. This is one of the first times that I’ve been impressed with the amount of seasoning and spices in the food in Quindio! Maybe too much for the locals but this place will do well with tourists, I guarantee that! We had the Patacones, tacos and Vegetarian Burger.
The view is stunning, the decor and atmosphere is amazing and the drinks were awesome (and decently priced).
Can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu, especially...
