My husband and I were staying in the neighborhood just for one night before flying to Drake Bay. We were looking for somewhere in walking distance that served vegetarian food. We saw this place was very close and well rated so we gave it a shot. We were NOT disappointed! In fact, at the end of 9 days in Costa Rica, we both agreed it was our best meal, despite enjoying plenty of other meals during our trip. They were friendly and made an effort to speak English with us, but also were patient with me practicing my Spanish. We were brought through the house to the patio out back, it was peaceful with tropical trees and plants all around us. You don't feel like you are in a busy city. Carlos went to put his dogs inside but we asked if we could say hi first-we're dog people and already were missing ours. We ordered the vegetarian pinto de Gallo and the veggie omelet, plus coffee and a smoothie. We intended to share both, but they actually brought out 2 pinto de Gallo plates plus the omelet. It still cost less than $40 even with the drinks. It was hard not to eat it all because it was all so delicious, but we managed to save some and bring it with us...It was delicious the second time for lunch-even cold. I went here with my wife, her mom, and my mom. From the outside looking in, it did not look like a place that was with so many good reviews. We went in with faith based on the reviews and healthy food pictures. Carlos was very welcoming and made us feel right at home. We asked him to make us lunch and some smoothie drinks from fresh fruit. He was so amazing in explaining the different options and providing everyone what they wanted. My wife got a smoothie with pineapple and ginger, my mom with strawberry, me with melon. I did the beef plate and my wife a salad. My mom was not as hungry but Carlos accommodated with a small plate and my mother in law also enjoyed. We really were made to feel like family and I was so happy to have come here. The vibes in this place are immaculate. There are so many cool vintage things to look at inside, and the outdoor seating area is really lovely. Excellent music choices made for a really fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Carlos was so sweet and friendly! I’m vegan and he suggested I could try the traditional breakfast veganized, and I’m so glad I did! The portion size was more than I was expecting considering the price and everything was so delicious. There is a large avocado tree in the yard and I’m not sure if my avocado was from that tree but it sure tasted like it was that fresh! The plantains were perfect and I left feeling full, refreshed, and very happy.
