We visited Taste as a group of 4 on two occasions during our stay in Cahuita and the first thing needed to do is get on here to write a review. We have been in Costa Rica for a few weeks and my partner and I South America for months and this has been the BEST meal we have had, period. We’ve had the empanadas, lobster, snapper, marlin and juicy shrimp. Everything was super fresh and hot, and tasted absolutely divine. The Carribean curry sauce was absolutely phenomenal. We all agreed we could have drank that sauce alone, which just meant having everything dripping in this delectable sauce was stunning and we still couldn't get enough. We left the restaurant always with fist fulls of rum cake, banana cake, cinnamon rolls and purchased litres of the mind blowing Carribean Punch cider. The cider was made from passion fruit, star fruit and ginger and was 10000% natural meaning NO HANGOVER. We especially loved how on our final night, the lady on all the photos (assuming to be the owner) recognised us from our multiple attendances and seemed generally touched about how much we ranted and raved. Absolutely unreal food, really feel good eating. 10/10, cannot...
Read moreIf you go to Cahuita, even for the day, and don’t eat here, you are missing out. Don’t be fooled by the restaurants on the main street, the ones tucked away are always the best ;) Doria is a special woman and chef. She is so sweet and everyone working there will make you feel welcomed and comfortable. Her cooking is truly incredible. The food is so rich with flavor and has a true Caribbean taste. I was also really impressed with the variety of food I got. I was in Costa Rica for 1.5 months before arriving to Cahuita, and this was by far the best meal I had in all that time. I came back here 4 times and ordered the vegetarian house special, and it was a slightly different dish every single time. I also ordered the Rasta Pasta and it was some of the best pasta I’ve ever had. I cannot thank this woman enough for reminding me what well-seasoned, flavorful food tastes like. And do not forget to try the ciders next door! Please do yourself a favor and eat here, you will not be...
Read moreFriendly and cozy place with an open kitchen so you can see your food being made. I ordered the Merlin fish with shrimp in a Caribbean sauce with rice and salad. My husband Opted for the same dish but requested no shrimp. The portions were pretty standard and the flavour was charged with nice spices and aromas. The food was nicely presented with a super fresh shredded salad that was also very colourful. We also order some chicken fry bread or gigantic empanadas that we ate the following morning and it was very good as well. I had a Cas fruit drink (I think that is how you spell it) and it was super refreshing and tasty. I added tons of ice to make it last and also because the flavour was strong enough to keep drinking it cold. My husband had the tamarind drink and he also thought it was great. We also tried the cider from the neighbor place and it was great. I loved the Mara cuya one. Overall I will recommend this place. Total paid was $62 Canadian...
