We stopped in to Madre Tierra on our last night in Puerto Viejo. Hunting for a mellow spot to grab a drink, we ended up here. What a gem. We didn't order any food but the plates we saw coming out of the kitchen looked amazing. Our goal? The drinks!

The service was a bit slow but... #1, it's Costa Rica. #2, it's the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica. #3, it doesn't matter. You're on vacation so sit back and relax. The bartender/server was epic and was making each drink to order.

Even if you're not looking for food, stop in here for one of the best drinks you'll have in Puerto Viejo.

I got food poisoned. Went there for dinner, asked for vegan bruschetta and came a bruschetta full of bacon, thank god that I didn’t bite it. I would be super angry.

And them our plate took almost 2hours to arrive, my partner had a very dry burger and I got the vegetables green curry.

I liked how it tasted. But at 1am I woke up vomiting and as I did until the morning. My whole body hurts and I’m feeling like a crap. I’m so sick and dehydrated because of the food poisoning.

So be aware! I know it can happen anywhere, accidents happen, but I decide to leave this review to even them be more careful with their food and contamination!
