What should I say this time ?! I am writing this review just because I know how important it is these days. The people in CostaRica relay on it then the business is hard. For some of them it is just a “hobby” then they have just to much and don”t really care. For others it is a different between keep going or leave it.
So, I am writing every time I was in Martina’s SoulSurfer.
At first let’s have a look on the place… There is always pro and cons If you prefer to have a delicious dinner in a lovely and almost quite setting, then you are on the right place. In minutes walking distance to Puerto Viejo’s main square.Don’t get me wrong, it is just my preference. I can”t enjoy this kind of food next to a loud and crowdy place.
About the food… I am visiting every time Martina’s place and have never been disappointed. It starts with something for eyes… did you ever asked yourself why the burgers in a fast food restaurants looks quite different to those pictures on the walls? In Soul Surfer you don’t need as the burgers are better than the pictures. There is always room for improvement as we all are individuals. Some are preferring to get the fries separately in a busker or so. Other like blue plates … for my eyes it was very very good. The burger was medium, juicy and with flavor of blue cheese as ordered. Fries with the magic spice sauce ( shame Martina doesn’t want to share the receipe ).
Service… All of the team are very nice. I was too busy with the food to keep eye in so excuse me but I can’t really review this time. Based on previous visits there were...
Read moreMy husband and I have visited this restaurant twice (so far) and we decided that we love it! We are burger lovers so we have tried burgers all over Costa Rica, and at Soulsurfer, we definitely found some of the best we've ever had (picture attached doesn't do it justice). The Shaka is a pork burger, "al pastor" style, made with authentic Mexican flavors and it is an explosion of flavor with a slight kick of spice. If we go for a beef burger, another favorite is the Cutback which is made special by the Gruyere cheese, arugula, walnuts and pear sauce. You know that feeling of wanting to try something different in a restaurant that you frequently visit but never finding something more interesting than what you usually order? That isn't happening for us at Soulsurfer. We can't wait for the next visit to try the chicken and/or veggie burgers, because there are also amazing vegan options! Chefs at Soulsurfer, you have found yourselves another couple of loyal repeat customers!! Thanks for...
Read moreSoulsurfer is an incredible tastebud experience! We have loved them since they opened 3 years ago and had their tiny slice of paradise on the shore of Salsa Brava. Having moved into town, they create an atmosphere as though you are still on the beach. The vegan and vegetarian burgers are out of this world. Recipes with ingredients you cannot find placed together to form delicious non-meat burgers. The size of each burger (meat or non-meat) are about the size of your face! Crisp golden French fries with a slight kick of heat, and the best puréed smoothies in PV. The price point is right on and maybe a steal for the filling you will receive once finished...
