My company held our wellness retreat at Hidden Gardens for 6 days and we had a horrific experience. The water stopped working in the middle of the retreat and the women were unable to shower throughout the retreat. The owner of Hidden Gardens , Rachel, had no compassion about the situation. We spent days either looking for her because she was rarely on site or trying to figure out where to shower. Hidden Gardens also had an extreme amount of bugs, we recognize that this is nature and the jungle but the amount of cockroaches at Hidden Gardens was scary and unbearable. When the women at our wellness retreat informed Rachel, she again provided them with no explanations and responded with poor customer service. We also asked Rachel to provide us with some sort of minor compensation because not having water for 4 days was horrific, Rachel did not provide us a refund nor an apology, we paid ahead of time so there was nothing we could do about it, it was such an unfortunate situation. We later found out that many guest have issues when they stay at Hidden Gardens but Rachel deliberately does not have a trip advisor page so people aren't able to know what's really going on at the center. Do no host your retreat at Hidden Gardens, there are other retreat centers in the town of puerto viejo that will provide you a beautiful experience. We also found it hilarious that Rachel created an Afro Botany conference so that she could capitalize off the oppression of african people. All in all, the rooms at Hidden Gardens are extremely small, it feels as though you are sleeping on top of each other, the water has issues, the owner is unreliable, rude and provides poor communication . We recommend planning your vacation, event or retreat some place else, don't make the same mistake that we did,...
Read moreWhat can I say about Hidden Gardens. I've been travelling to Costa Rica for several years now and I always stay here with my family. The entire house is always super clean and tidy (thanks to the beautiful housekeeper Lilly). Hidden Gardens is my second home and I will always promote it. If anyone has had a bad experience I would simply like to say that (maybe it's you). This cute little sacred geometry styled home is big enough to host small retreats and events. Each bedroom is perfectly sized and equipped with basic needs for sleeping and resting. I enjoy spending time in the huge kitchen working or laughing over dinner with friends. Just a short walk to the beach and town, Hidden Garden is the perfect spot to relax, kick back and disconnect from the world. Join us...
